Remove intake 4 winter??

I have a short ram intake and just noticed today that I can see the filter a little bit threw the small gap between the fender and the hood. Should I remove the intake and replace back with stock until winter is over?? Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I agree... I see no reason too either. I have a CAI and I live in the Northeast and I leave my intake on all year round... so if you have a short ram you'll be more then OK.

Yeah your not gonna have any problems with the snow getting into the filter. Thats gonna be more trouble then its worth to take it off and then put it back on. You'll be fine.

Yup, they work.... I've seen many stories posted about people through puddles, etc. only to have their by-pass soaked with water, but their engines were fine. Better safe then sorry.

yes, just cut pipe in half and install bypass .. but wouldn't a bypass be pointless for a shortram? I mean, the bypass and filter would practically be at the same height. I think the whole point of the bypass is so that in a CAI, if the filter way down by the bumper sucks water, it can inhale air through the bypass foam filter .. at least thats how I understand it. If I'm wrong please tell me.

If your submerging the filter in a shortram, I think you have alot of problems on your hands.
