Realized something after a thorough wash/interior cleaning

Spent a few hours today washing the '03 ABP-CL Type S. After I got done, I just sat there and looked at her and realized how nice this car truly is (CL-S in general). I guess I really like them since I rarely see them on the road. I think the 2nd gen TL looks outdated IMHO, but the 2nd gen CL still looks good even if it is 4-6 yrs old. I get a lot of comments on how nice my car is since many people dont even know what a CL is. Its a shame Acura stopped production of a mid sized luxury coupe. I could just imagine with the 3rd gen TL and how nice they look, what a 3rd gen CL would have looked like. I gues what im trying to say is, I really think the CL is a gem.

Nice... I feel the same way when I get my CL-S all washed up and looking perdy.

I love driving my car to work in the morning. There's nothing like those early morning traffic-free back roads, taking off from a stop sign or merging onto the highway. Makes me truly appreciate what I have.

I'd say the reason the CL is such a gem is because of it's classic styling....and like Jay-Z did, they went out while they were on top, so when they return they keep that status (which I imagine is only a matter of time).

One of the reasons why the car is beautiful itself is because they did stop the production. Im sure if they continued, you wouldent feel as original so there you go

It's simple. That's what I like about it. Anyone can sit in it and figure everything out in 1 minute. The layout is simple, no clutter of buttons & knobs. No techo info overload of complex & useless features.

As I sit here waiting for the new owner of my CL to come and pick it up, I feel really weird. I can't believe I'm letting it go, it's the best car I've ever had.

I must be nuts.

i agree, i think one of the reasons its so nice is that they stopped making them, so you really dont have any new CL to compare to...the 2nd gen TL looks outdated because the new Tl's are out....anyways, i love my CLS too...its the best car i've ever had...i went from a 1996 accord when i was 15 to a 1998 jeep grand cherokee when i was 17...then a 2000 honda accord when i was 18, and now my CLS im now 19 going on 20, im really happy with my purchase

i'm excited to pay it off in october and then drive it another 100K+ miles. I love this car and with proper maintenance this easily has 10+ good years left. plus i work from home now so my annual mileage has dropped significantly.

Glad to see so many others feel the same! I agree about the interior too. My friend has a G35 and he always comments about how my seats are the best and most comfortable he ever sat in, and he has a shop/car lot so he knows his cars. He said sometimes he wish he kept it for himself instead of selling it to me lol Sellers remorse I guess lol

The more I look at other cars, the more I think I should just keep my CL... There is still nothing out there that excited me so much that I'd want to get rid of my CL...

Maybe I'll just keep the cl and get a cheap weekend toy to get rid of the urge to get a new car...

I haven't seen any cars that really excite me as well...I test drove the 08 Subie Legacy GT the other day and I was very impressed with the car. But my heart is with the CL. Knowing me, I'll have it for the rest of my life.

Woman....

a 20 YO college student. Her father was encouraging her to buy it even though it had been blown and modded! They already have a TL and a MDX, so it'll be going to a good home.

If Acura doesn't come out with something similar in the next 2-3 years, I can totally see myself getting another CL.

I have a red 2003 CL-S with 50K miles that is near mint. I get asked all the time,
"what kind of car is that anyway?" The Infinti G35 coupe is another car that is similar in design.

I have to disagree with the G35 because you see so many of them. When they fist came out I really liked them but know I see every Dick, Jane, Harry and their Family members driving one. By the way when people see my CL-S that have never seen one they always say nice car.

Friend has a 05 G35x, a sweet car, but i just dont like the interior nor the feel of it... meaning on how i sit. Everything feels squarish. The performance is awesome though.
Ive had my CL for just over a year and have placed 40'000km on it, and i still get tingles when i sit and drive it. The car fits like a glove for me. Its nothing flashy, yet the lines are style are still up to date. A few quirks here and there just like any other car, but the CL is definitely a hidden gem when looking for a used performance coupe. The best thing about the car, no one knows about it. People ask, its an Acura what?! Especially the silly boys who think can keep up.

I really enjoy the styling of our CL's as well. I just really wish it was more of a "driver's" car than it is. I know I could get a 6 speed, but I don't think I'd want to own the same car twice in a row.

I like the 330Ci's, G35c's, etc. because with the rear wheel drive they just make more sense for performance.

Well, our car isnt a race car. Thats what is so unique about it, FWD and 260 hp. I driven the G and yea it is quicker then the CL and my buddy that owns it drove my car a few times and was like DAMNNNNNN this thing is quick. He han on 04 G35 coupe and im totally not feeling the interior and the seats suck compared to ours. IS there something better out there? YES, but I love our cars. And Acuras whole philosphy of offering a luxary brand at a lower price point suits me perfectly. I have better things to do with my money then through it out the window on an enormous car payment. For the price you pay with this car, the performance, saftey and other features is all there. Im sorry but 260hp is plenty for me considering I dont race it or beat the balls off it.
