My friend had his cousins gtp for a day, so he called me up to race. We go to our spot and line up. My lil bro gets out of the gtp and says on your mark get set go and were off, he never even fuckin saw me, put atleast 2-2.5 cars on him by 80 mph.

I'll take this win but this gtp was a 4dr, had 2 12's weighing it down and this guy racing the gtp wasnt used to it cause it wasnt his car, so the guy who drives the gtp is gonna strip his car and race me later on. BTW, it was 44 degrees when we raced and my car felt so quick.

Its funny how all the cars i've beaten have never even came close to beatin me, i've never lost a race w/ my cl-s

He wont need to strip his car to beat your time. However, he will need to have a clue how to launch it. Of course we know his advatange is in the launch, he needs to take full advantage of it. That was a pathetic showing on the GTP's part.

HUH? Are you serious dude? Do you honestly believe a GTP has to have a pulley to beat the mighty CLs? You've argued quite well for the CLs in previous GTP vs. CLs threads, but to make a blanket statement like that is just plain ignorant.

For a GTP to be 'raped' by a CLs that has run a best of 15 flat......well you dont have to look to hard to see why that happened. The car doesn't need a pulley, it needs a driver who knows how to drive it. And then you have a good race on your hands.....it wont be a raping either way. Give the GTP the pulley and then you will see some rapage.

I was setup to run a GTP that was pullied, we ran 10 times total in a 2 week period. He runs 10psi. It all depended WHO got hte better launch won. If we did a ROLL from 20-30 mph, we were dead even all the way to 90 where I might have started to CREEP ahead, but it was hard to tell.

what is it with you GTP guys. I understand that the GTP is a very fast car along with the cl-s. The person who started this post said himself that the GTP was weighed down slightly with a driver who wasn't used to the car. Can't you just except that he beat this GTP and get over it? Maybe he won't beat every GTP, but I don't recall him saying that he would. GROW UP !!!

 

I still dont understand how a car that wasnt fuctioning properly (low boost)ran even with you, but when he fixed his belt he was still even with you. Your story sounds fishy

 

You are hard headed. The 1st run we do his belt was fine, the 2nd runs his belt started to slip and the video proved that by me passing him much quicker.

Also he was running while the belt was slipping 8-9si of boost per his gauge. Stock is 7psi.

He was still running MORE THAN STOCK boost, not low boost even with it slipping.

Then after it was fixed he ran 10psi without a problem and we were DEAD EVEN.

After he got his new belt it was like the 1st run all the time, DEAD EVEN.

And we proved that 2 weeks ago 4 times in a row. ASK DROD. he didn't see it, but his friend is the one I ran.

He can beat 03 Cobras, BPU supras as well. A stock 98 is nothing compared to it. We can walk over a 98 stock 5spd stang easily.

If you did you would find there are MANY, MANY GTP's running in the 14's stock. Lots of them as fast as 14.60's or so. And upon learning this you would never make the moronic statement that I quoted above.

Unless I'm the one who has been missing something and all CLs cars run low-14's stock....then yes, the GTP will need a pulley to win.

I have no problem with hearing that a CLS beat a GTP, they are close enough that it's bound to happen. But I have a problem with people like SliverBullet, uninformed people irk me.

It takes a damn pulley for A gtp to run faster than us! PERIOD.

A GTP doesn't trap the speed we DO PERIOD.

 

Yawn. Most GTPs run high 14s to low 15s stock. With around 90-92 trap speed. we run same but with a 94+ mph trap speed. The CL-S will walk you down no matter what on a roll. No, you are BRAND BLINDED. Some of us are not. I can name one, DROD.

 

Maxima SE, CLS-S and GTP are all very close in stock form when talking about performance. I'm sure we can all agree on this.

Also, I can understand that you might not have looked into real world figures for the GTP since you don't own one and probably don't care. However, quite a variation occurs with these cars in stock form. 15.1 - 14.6 is par. There have been stock cars with even faster times. For you to be all inclusive with your statement of a GTP needing a pulley to be competative with a CLS-S is utter ignorance of facts and an unwillingness to educate himself. Cut the defensiveness and put your balls on the table and admit you made a dumb statement. The longer you defend it, the more idiotic you are making yourself appear.
