RAM AIR WS7 Vs. cl-s

what would you think...well ill tell you...i didnt think i had a shot in hell, but still i like knowing where i stand...and well its better than you'd think....off the line i get the jump...hold him off through first, hold him off through 2nd...but the momount im shifting from 2nd.to 3rd...that bad ass fucker just walks on you like you're standind still...this guy was cool...young guy late 20's ...he was like damn that car is quick out of the hole...its nice ,what is that an acura??? we exchanged pleasantries ,and were on our way...im sure he was very surpirsed he didnt walk away right from the start...oh and i should add...i finish the 1/8th mile right at the end of 2nd...meaning...if you guys goto any of the 1/8th mile tracks...you have a chance to hold them off.im gonna look to make some money...if i can cut a light ...

Nice job!! That feels good, doesn't it? That sounds just like a couple of races I've had against LS1's, at about 80 they just take off on me.

Later,

I believe a Ws7 is a stock trans am that the owner put his own Ws6 package on. Ie, new hood, new tires, and handling upgrades. I'm pretty sure I read something like that on LS1.com

I believe the WS-7 is a cosmetic kit from Suncoast Creations, fitted to LT-1 (93-97) Trans AMs...they are quick.....but not as fast as an LS-1....An LS-1 would have walked you as soon as he hit second gear...if driven correctly.

before this ram air there were two t top WS6' that i held off all the way through second for me what gear they were in dont know, the first ended there but the second walked on me hard as i shifted to third...when i say hard i mean at that point you would think i wasnt racing...yet i was still WOT......than last night after my stellar .499 r/t i did the same thing to a z28 got it off the line and held it through second.....i shut it down there ...where im sure i would of been handed my ass agin...not because of that but because the road got alittle "curvey" for 80+mph runs...apperantly the LS1/LT1's are geared alittle concervetivly down low... you need good tires but i recomend you try it...

Dude, being in front of someone because of reaction time does not equal "holding it off"

I can "hold off" John Fuggin Force if I leave soon enough.

no you dont understand...and you're talking about two different things...all my runs against these LS1's/LT1's were on the street and i may have gotten the jump but not that much, that if they were as fast in the early stages as you make them out to be ,that they wouldnt have past me up right away....i held them off to 70+mph....say what you want...i happen to carry alittle digi cam with me ,so i guess ill have to get you some Mpeg proof...

1st and 2nd are under-geared in the 6 spd F-bodies...

Have you run your CL-S at the track? If not, what would you EXPECT it to run? I really have no clue...

Hahahaha...

What's up Mullet Man?

The CL-S well driven at a decent track should be 14.8-15.0 @ ~92 bone stock.

9.5??? Ummm...you got lucky then...

9 flats will get you close to a poorly launched LS1 (wanna race? ) in the 1/8th though. My old 94 Z28 automatic ran 9.0@80 with a 2.18 60'...had CAI and exhaust dump...105k miles when I ran it.

To give you an idea of a 9 flat in my car...my "best" 1/8th is 8.99@82 with a 2.27 60'...so there's a lot more than 9 flats in it

not really...i get better than 2.27 60'...so id say im getting the launch and then they run Me down with HP...i realize you're speaking of your car...but im saying alittle too much wheel spin in the street could be the equivilant of a 2.5 60'ft or worse...the tracks are prepped...the more power you have the harder it'll be to launch well on the street....

FYI...I didn't spin my way to that 2.27 60'...I bogged. I can launch great on the street, but only got 2 runs in a pool of VHT and I never got to launch hard enough...

I'm saying you should be several lengths back by the 1/8th...
