They sell them at local parts stores, but if your store doesnt sell Gates, you may need to know the measurement of them to get a belt that works. I got them online for $26 shipped for both.

I got my pulley today and went to the autoparts store to get my belts and they didnt have them but he did tell me that the stock pulley has a harmonic balencer to get rid of vibration and the aftermarket one doesn't have it. He said it can wear out your bearings over time is this true?

I know some people had it done here but no one has that many miles with it on there car. You really CAN't tell that the bearings are being worn out untill you get some miles on it with that pulley.. I'm guessing the most miles someone has with that pulley is 20k if that?

Who has most miles with a option pulley , do u know?

this has been covered in detail ... the stock pulley does have a rubber ring in it ... i posted pics with a pin stuck in it ... this is for noise transfer into cabin ... engine is internally balanced and we had a member do several oil anylisis after install ... best bang for buck mod ... nest K&N drop in and lower res removal ... the pulleys 7-10 is the entire rev range too not just peak

that guy is an idiot harmonic balancer is such a vague term

honda engines are internally balanced, so as long as the pulley doesnt have a lot of weight on one side youll be fine (dont know if thats exlpained correctly)

because most have an extremly difficult time getting the o.e. pulley off with even a big impact gun ... if it still doesnt make sense let me know when u try to get it off with any other method , not saying it cant be done . i just know first hand ...even hit mine with a torch ... until i did breaker bar method it didnt budge

I think what he's saying is it's on so tight that it is a major pita to break it free. If you have a breaker bar and are all jacked up on steroids it will work fine, if not, let the starter motor do the work.

got mine in the mail yesterday. thing looks WICKED for $12US + s/h The metal is prolly worth more than what i paid ha. It i truely is quality... (if you can believe that) but yes it's 100% flawless.

Spend more money if you like but nothing will change. It's feather light also... definately cant wait to put her on once I get that crank pulley bar. (i thought u could impact it off like my Probe when i had it) apparently it's a bit of a bitch to crank this bad boy off.

May just run to the dealership and have then toss it on for $50 since they got all the tools and know how and buddy who works on ym car does plenty of CLs.

if it's around 50 i think i'll just go for it

So I'm in the option for a underdrive crank pulley, but it seems that Option pulleys aren't available anymore. I did however, find this on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-02...item5ad90cc5f0

Looks like the same design, and it's milled out of AL-6061, which is what UR pulley is made of. As long as it is made out of the material that they say it is, and milled correctly, I don't see the point of buying a more expensive one.

Or should I go with another knockoff brand, like Bomz? The OBX pulley has a little different design (more pockets drilled to be even lighter).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-U...item2a0cb6be75

Thoughts?

Id go with the first one. When you get it just make sure the grooves are clean.

Yeah, that's what I figured. There's not much to go wrong with a milled cylinder. Not much room for design flaws or tolerancing errors.

damn that obx pulley does look interesting.

it'd match my power steering UDP quite nicely. oh well.

the sold pulley looks much stronger therefore less could go wrong.. so i guess that's the better choice.

you're gonna love the added go you get with the pulley

Forgot to update this thread...

I bought the pulley from ebay for $22. Quality was good, didn't notice any flaws. Installed it 3 months ago, and it's still going strong. Definitely noticed the difference in acceleration
