I just discovered that all AM stations have bad static when the rear defroster is on.
The defroster works ok,but the static is so bad thaat you can't hear the radio.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

 

Yup seen this problem before .Your rear defroster has a flaw in one of the grids .This flaw (cut line actually) is probably very small but there nontheless .When the defroster is on the electricty can jump the gap in the defroster creating a static the radio can hear .Time for a trip to the dealer for a thorough inspection of the rear window .

I looked carefully at the rear window defrost strips.
It looks like one may be damaged down in the corner.
This is actually under the rear deck, and couldn't have been damaged by cleaning the glass.
What is the repair procedure?
Will the rear window have to be replaced?

 

The one we found we replaced the rear window ,but before we go crazy have your dealer look this over .I tried one of those repair kits for the defrosters but this proved futile .
