Radio options?

I have the stock radio but im really thinking of changing it out because all I listen to is my ipod. I usually use the Cassette adapeter but after a while its starts manking very loud noises. So a few weeks ago I bought a FM modulator to make a fake AUX port, works good but the volume is very low. I plan on changing my speakers but are there any other options before changing the actual radio?

Theres plenty. What do you want in a radio? And what are you trying to spend?

I think you saw my Avic F90BT, but you didnt play with it.

The stock software it ships with suck, but the guys on avic411 are very good at fixing all the issues. Mine works great and I have the latest maps.

Might as well just get a simple single din unit.

Or I think they make an iPod adapter for our cars. Check the Vendor Sales area.

Yea see the thing about the regular adapter is that it has to go through a radio channel if im correct and thats low. But looking at those options you showed me im really thinking about getting one. Do you use a cover when you use when you away from the car

gas anyone used the isimple and if so how do you operate it on our cars seeing that we dont have a AUX menu. Because going through the radio chanels make the sound quality horrible.

That's the thing I'm planning on getting, as far as I can tell it's going to sound just as good as music from your CD's sounds, and it's not limited to just an iPod since it uses a headphone jack. I doubt you'll be able to control tracks and stuff w/the steering wheel controls, but not too big of a deal

I don't have an iSimple but i assume the Peripheral interface i have works the same way. It plugs into the back of the radio directly into an empty plug that was originally used for an optional external 6-CD changer that nobody bought because of the built-in changer in the radio. I love mine. I'm like you and don't listen to the radio mainly because all the stations play the same 10 songs of which 5 are Lady Gaga. The quality is perfect. The unit i have still lets you control the iPod straight from the iPod which i know different interfaces do different things. Some don't allow you to control your iPod once connected. The box plugs into the bottom of your iPod for sound, control, and to charge it. The iPod then goes into a fixed volume so you can't mess with it other than on the radio. Then the only other thing you can do is go forward and backward tracks. I usually just put it on shuffle songs and enjoy my 80gb+(and growing) of music. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope i helped.

blitzsafe is the option if you want to keep the factory deck.
That way you will still keep your steering wheel controls.
Aftermarket hu such as kenwood will have ipod interface built in.
You would have to buy the adapter to use the steering wheel controls if going aftermarket.
I was at the same point you are, needing more versatility but didn't want to lose the steering wheel controls.
Got over it and went for a unit that has everything.
steering wheel control can be added later.
It's very obvious that I miss it since a few months later and I'm still trying to press the volume on the wheel.
Just get a nice 2 din dvd/nav unit, and you will be completly happy.

Its easy as hell to wire in the steering wheel control module. I think mine is made by PAC.

hmm choices choices choices. I will check the prices when i go to work because i would just get the iSimple or Blitzsafe if its has better sound that the FM modulator, meaning that it doesnt stream the FM stations. But at the same time im considering buying a new radio/ gps/ all that other good stuff.
