Radar Detector

I just bought a cobra 9110. Took a cruise on the freeway after I put it in and it seems to work OKAY, at least better than my whistler did. Anyone else have an opinion? I didn't have the $300 for an escort or anything too highend.

thanks

Agreed. Even though they cost a lot, the better detectors like the Escort or Valetine 1 are well worth it. This morning on the way into work my V1 picked up a police radar over 2 miles from where the cop was!! I guarantee the Cobra wouldn't have a range like that. If you got a good price then use that detector in the meantime and save for a quality detector like one of the ones mentioned above.

I have a COBRA 9200 and it has never saved me yet, I don't even use it anymore. One time it didn't go off until I was beside the cop and of course it was too late.

I am going for the V-1 I just need to wait a few months to fork out that kinda dough

That sucks, I guess its kind of what I expected though. I bought a two year warranty through best buy though, so if it burns out I get a $110 voucher towards any other radar detector in the store. I wonder if they'd be able to tell if I put it in a microwave....

If you JUST bought it like you said, take it back for a refund and say you didn't like it.
Best Buy should be fine with this if it's within 30-days or so.
