racing harnesses and racing seats????

Any of you had experience with these? are they a real pain in the ass? Are they uncomfortable for everyday driving?

I had the jamex racing seats in my type R w/6 point harnesses. They were a real pain the @ss to get in and out of, but once you were in them, you didn't want to get out. And the belts, once you put those on, you could barely reach the steering wheel. I would get them again, if only the S' seats weren't already so damn comfy

It would be tuff to be comfortable with race seats and belts in the cls. The way I have the seat set now is so my head does not hit the roof, but I can't reach the top of the wheel. So I hold the side or bottom of the wheel and lean forward a bit when needed. If you bolt in a 5 point harness I think it would make the car hard to drive. Unless you replace the seats and bolt them to the floor to gain head room. Then you would lose back seat access.

I didn't have back seats in the car. I took them out, since they weren't accessible anyway.

low 12's high 11's, then i wake up. So low 13's to high 12's sounds better

One of the mags said that 5 point seats were not allowed. Is that BS?

Enough turns at enough Gs makes my ribs hurt -- I want to know more...

I was looking around and found this:

I never had a problem. And I WAS pulled over every day I also took out the stock seat belts(before I had the 6 points in;not a good idea) which is illegal. But as far as I know, you can put whatever you want in the car (as far as seat belts) as long as the stock ones are in there.

Sounds reasonable... I ripped that quote above from a site that does sell approved belts, but theirs are just 4 point. They even keep the stock belts, so you probably got the solution
