The Z-28 has two more cylinders, almost 100 more HP and is probably 500 lbs. lighter.
Its also not being produced any more (what does that tell you), it looks like a door wedge on wheels, and they are hard to modify. The CL is fast for what it is, its 10 times more comfortable, and its still in production.

I'd love to hear your comments on a C4 and C5 corvette if you think of the Camaro in that sense. Please comment.

For the money I'd spend on a c5 or z06, I'd rather spend it on m3. Give me an import over a domestic any day of the week.

I think it would take me a long while to make my decision on a 2002 M3 vs. 2002 C5 Z06 (w/ 405hp).

But since I'm biased, I'll take the BMW

I guess it depends on what you want to modify. Power vs. dress up.

I'm more of a heads and cam guy than a teak shift boot ring guy.

I'd rather have a Mercedes CLK 430, My next car. I don't care about speed anymore. I used to have a 93 Cobra, and I got it down to the low 13s at 106......Big deal!!!! I traded it in on my CL, and it was the best move I could make. After driving a car like the CL, Ill never go back to a car like a mustang or camaro, that is unless I can have one as a toy, not have to drive it, and turn it in to an 8 sec street outlaw car. If your gonna go fast, do it right. Make sure you need a parachute o stop. My CL-S is fast enough, it looks good, and has a warranty for the next 100,000 miles. Oh yeah, and I can drive it year round with out having to worry about killing myself.

PS. Pull up to a car full of women in a loud and obnoxious camaro or mustang, and see what happens. I'll pull up in a black CLK with dark tint and chrome rims, and we'll see you gets the chicks.

2001 CL weighed 3650 with me in it on Friday.

My 98 LS1 T/A weighed 3550 with me in it last year.

Thats only 100 pounds.

CL made 206hp on the dyno. My 98 made 296hp.

it really doesn't matter which you want to do, as the f-bodies (in all the v8 flavors) have waaaaay more aftermarket stuff than the cl/tl series.

So you need a car to get chicks. Where would you be without the car?

Heh! At least your a Ford guy saying this, but I love it when other people on this board that own a CL-S say that domestic's suck. Kinda funny that the CL-S is built in Ohio, with 95% american manufactured parts, and is only sold in the america's. Yes, that's definitely not close to a domestic....

Not a flame, just on observation....

As for M3 over Z06, I'd take the Z06. That's the first 'Vette to actually rank higher in European magazines than the M3 over there even. I don't have the articles anymore, but I believe they were posted a while back. THough I do love the M3, I'm a hardcore US sportcar fan at heart. THough I would love to have the M5....

And then the Z06 would take you. A Z06 would blow an M3 away!

but the m3 would allow 3 of his friends to be taken as well...

you are limited to but one additional crash test dummy with the z06.

So take a hot chick instead of three friends? *shrug*
It's all about what lifestyle you have and where you are in life, that determines what car you get.

you can take three hot chicks in the m3.

you are man enough to handle three, right?
