it was the original transmission, i thought it would of lasted a bit longer its a 67,000 miles right now.
i did want to do the 6 speed swap but i dont have enough money right now so im just seeing what options i have

lol my original trans last 96000kms which is like 55000miles
make sure it's not a sensor or anything..
Is your D5 blinking??
get the car scanned before you say it is the trans.. there are PLENTY of things that can go wrong that make the car not shift properly.

shyt yea that's what happened to my trans then ni got her rebuilt.
the gears were actually missing 40% OF THE MATERIAL.. so the trans was eating itself alive.
You definitely have particles/debris in some of the collectors which causes the weird shifts. but either way it needs to be pulled apart bro... sorry
get a trans cooler and trans temp gauge to keep an eye on the trans when u get it rebuilt or another one. to make sure you don't met anything again.
it's been 30000kms and my trans is still driving just fine... when it gets above 15degrees C then connect the trans cooler. bellow 15 disconnect the trans cooler..
god i love having a trans gauge

if you go on long hot drives I would highly recommend the trans cooler and gauge... then you can start to learn the patterns of the trans and how the temp fluctuates with and without the trans cooler. plus it's a real great piece of mind t know that ur trans is or is not melting :-)

How much is the rebuild costing? You do know that even with the rebuild it will blow again, right? It seems like a no brainer to me to swap in an Odyssey tranny. You have to do alot to get those to blow.

it's gotta be different in shifting... like the trans must be a lil slower or something which makes it last longer?? just speculation.
but I can't see it feeling like the same exact car with that trans in... but i could be dead wrong

^there's a thread all about the oddy trans and why it's better...you posted in it. The ECU controlls shifting i thought, so it would be the same. It's just built better....i can't remember the specifics. Diddy said his feels the same.

The gearing is exactly the same. The tranny ecu controls shifting. Since you reuse the CL-S tranny ecu, you still have "manual" mode. The jetting is better in the Odyssey transmission, so the fluid can actually flow and do its job.

Less then most rebuilds.
You can find the Odyssey tranny for $800-1200, then a couple hundred on top to have it swapped in.

lol my trans is flaring from 2nd to 3rd on and off... gotta bring it back to my guy who rebuilt her... i think the 2nd clutch clearance is out of spec...
so.. make sure you got a guy who is willing to take care of you in the event of something going wrong in the future.

well the trans is in the car already and has been rebuilt.. obviously there is just one minor thing wrong with it that need attention so.. aint gonna go out and get a whole other trans and start over for a slight flare on one gear.
i cannot phathom having a van tranny in my sport luxury coupe.

-Sunlight sensor in the dashboard for the auto climate control, shared with the Odyssey
-Valve covers, Odyssey, Accord
-Cylinder heads, Odyssey, Pilot
-Exhaust valves, anything with a J series
-Oil pan, Odyssey
-Front brakes, Accord
-Suspension (damn near every part of it), Accord
Clearly you cant have such things in your [not so] sport [near] luxury coupe if they are shared with lowly vehicles such as the Odyssey and Accord.

did i hurt ur feelings?
wow you make it seem atrocious that I spoke my opinion.
are the PCMs the same? if so then the shifting would be also. If no, then obviously there is a difference.

You didn't hurt my feelings one bit. In fact, you humored me. You really do say some silly things.
It has been said in the past, you reuse the CL transmission ECU. Therefore, shifting is exactly the same, only with less slip. That means you still get to manually shift. It uses the same shift points. The only difference - the tranny wont burn up if you look at it the wrong way.

LOL look at it the wrong way.. that was good
well i got a trans gauge on the car now so i know if the tranny is too hot. without the trans cooler on i got it to 183 degrees (that is on a 15degree day) with lots of stop and go and on the throttle..
with the trans cooler on the hottest of days I was seeing 140 on the highway and 160 at peak in stop and go..
so with a trans cooler, there is no way i can see the tranny will ever burn up... per se. hell the faster/harder you drive the more it cools down. Complete opposite of a trans without a cooler. It's just an oven without a cooler lol

What year Odyssey transmissions work?
My tranny is on it's way out (slipping) on my 01 CLS, and I too want to convert to a manual, but it's just too costly, so i think I am going to look into swapping my tranny with one from a Odyssey.
