R.I.P megan headers =D (pics+vid)
how low do you daily drive??? =X
it looks higher to me in the pic...the downpipe is really about 3-4 inches tops fromt the ground
THE BAD:::
AND NOW FOR THE UGLY!!
that sucker has a hole in it so big i can stick my finger in it when its cold enough to touch!
goin back to stock as soon as possible...just waiting on htown to give me some stock headers
video sound clip of the nasty resonance...it wasnt quite THIS bad before the hole got knocked in it but what the hell. i figured i would finally post up a decent vid of the resonance that you will get from these megans.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...2BD2D13F91.htm
the vid says its optimizing right now cause i recently uploaded it...all should be good in an hour at most.
hope this thread can finally put the megan/ebay headers to rest for good

says "hello to my TLX".
i don't think this falls under the "you get what you pay for" category. this falls under "fuck uneven pavement + reckless driving".
any headers flex piping would die. CT or not.

ya i know it can be fixed...but i dont like them regardless cause of the design...they hang too low. it will just get banged up again. im goin back to stock cause it tucks up in there really well.
i dunno what the deal is with the video...i guess just check back tomorrow cause i uploaded it earlier today and it keeps saying that its being optimized and to check back later. if its not up by tomorrow ill rehost it somewhere else.

That sucks. Are you planning on switching to CT's at some point? I've had mine on for over a year and I don't think I've ever had anything hit them and I drive in North Jersey, home of the POTHOLE.

Damnnnn, sound and look just like mine, LOL, took it to Midas and they told me that they can weld a new flex pipe, they told me that to solve the bottoming out problems a bit they were going to install a thinner flex and position the flex higher. They are charging me $140 bucks to do this. Don't want to invest in getting other headers, saving up for wheels and other goodies right now.

midas is a bit pricey...
midas quote for removing old cat and welding in a new one: $90
american muffler: welded in new cat, welded in new resonator, replaced flexpipe: $160
^they were only going to charge me 75 for the cat and resonator, so you be the judge. just call around franklin.

looks exactly like my megans, but my resonance doesn't sound as bad as yours. i'll probably repair the flex pipe at a local muffler shop...too lazy to swap out another set of headers and I don't wanna loose my top end powerof course!!!
