quickest way to 60?

I noticed 0-60 times of like 6.4-6.7 seconds or so in most car magazines on the CL-S. How is the best way to achieve this--putting it in manual mode and just gunning it? or do any of you use the "automatic" shifter part...re----starting in one-pushing to the right to two...etc... ---or ---do you just leave it in d5 and punch it? Just wondering...

From what I know, the way they get those numbers would not be a good idea for you if you intend on keeping that car for more than a few days =)

Definitely use SS mode with VSA off. With SS you can come closer to redline (except in 1st). Also I forgot the shift times but they are shorter than with full-auto.

in SS, i can bounce it off the rev limiter in 1st if i just smash the gas like an idiot, but consensus seems to b inorder to get those times, u should NOT floor it in 1st, rather take the tach to about 5K, THEN in 2nd flooring it...something to the effect of u lose more time shifting from 1st to 2nd if u floor it in 1st as opposed to having a shorter shift time from 1st to 2nd if u shift at like 5K...shrug, just from what i've heard

all that just seems wrong.
1st gear never hits the rev limiter in ss, the tranny auto shifts to 2nd.
And not flooring it in 1st gear will cause the car to shift to 2nd early.
And shifting to 2nd gear at 5000 rpms is way off from peak horsepower.
You couldn't beat a tercel with that method.

as i said before, that's what i heard...i've only been to the track once with my baby, so im not experienced in which methods work the best

one thing i do know for a fact, i CAN bounce off rev limiter by flooring it in SS...it's a different story in Automatic however.

Mine will not come close to the rev limit in SS it will shift before red line and it doesnt even go into vtec in 2nd right away...it taks like a sec to get back in the sweet revrange.

WOT in SS, let the puter do the 1-2, redline to 3. Works like a champ (at least for me.) The track time I've got listed is bone stock (other than K&N drop-in, Comptech suspension, slicks.)

Ok so that time is bone stock? I was wondering cuz with the mods you have I would think and hope you would get better times.
