call an acura dealership, provide them with your vin# and they should give it to you free of charge over the phone.

I called mercedez for mine and they had no problems giving it to me over the phone.

Are you kidding? They gave you the code over the phone? They don't know you from Adam, and all you gave them was the VIN? What kind of security is that? I need to know my radio code too, but my dealer told me they'd have to remove the radio to find the serial number. Maybe they're just jacking me, but what's the point of the security if it can be compromised that easily? So if I was a thief, all I have to do is call the dealer with the VIN?

Nah that's not really how it works all the time. Usually if you go to the dealer a lot like me and one of the service tech remembers my name by heart I just give the the Vin # and they give me what I need about my car.

you know what, honestly factory alarm codes are so BS no one wants to steal factory decks honestly.
Thats why they don't really care no more.
I meant some guys can be asses about it.
But all they really need is the vin# as long as that was the original car the HU came from.

Amen, brother. I love my car, but I think the stereo is an unmitigated POS. I've been told the deck is Pioneer and they make decent gear, but I'm not a big fan of multidisc in-dash players with all the moving parts, and as far as the speakers go, I think Bose is the biggest scam in the home entertainment industry, and their car stereo junk is no different, IMHO. It's sad that such a great manufacturer of automobiles was duped by one of the biggest con artists since PT Barnum to have their mierda installed in these fine cars. On top of that, who's going to steal a head unit that only fits a select number of cars anyway?

The car I traded for my CLS had a sweet stereo, and I pulled the speakers and sub before I sold it, yet they're pretty much unusable in this car. It was also so disheartening to see that neither Crutchfield nor cardomian nor any other car stereo site I looked at had any aftermarket replacements for our stereos. That's all part of the Blose master plan, and they have us by the cojones. When I think about how much money and effort it would be to rip out that junk and replace it with quality gear--something fitting of this car--it makes me ill; it is also something I can ill afford, but I can't be without my tunage so I guess I'll have live with it. ...for the time being.

Still don't have the stupid radio code, but I feel better. Thanks for letting me rant.

mrblorry....you are so right about Bose. Drove my wife's C-S night before last and could not believe how "lacking" the bass was. I gave her the car 2 yrs. ago and picked up an SVT Focus just for an errand car. The stereo in that blows away the Acura system-- which is really shameful. Acura could have done way better IMHO. Wonder if I could add a sub to improve it, since tearing out the entire system would be costly??!!

Tearing out the entire system is not costly at all!

Its a Mounting Kit and wiring harness for the deck
Thats like $35 for those parts
then the deck
Then front 6 1/2 Components.
And rear 6 X 9's. It couldn't be that costly

Dealer had to pull the CLS radio to get the code because the Acura dealer I bought it from didn;t give me the card. Servicing deal was different than purchasing dealer.

Nismo-

I'm following you so far...

...a fresh set of 6x9 Infinity Kappas in the back, and whatever size in the door, although replacing the tweeters may be a problem, but what to be done with the console face?

Seems like a custom made fascia would need to be made, and I guess we can forget about the steering wheel volume control and CD track/station switch!

How do you enter the code in the first place. I try to and keep getting error on the display. Who in the hell steals factory decks in the first place.

My code was written on the inside of the owner's manual.

Search...

Turn the car on to the ACC position.

Make sure CODE is flashing on the radio.

Turn off the radio.

Hold down the 1 & 6 buttons on the face of the radio.

Turn on the radio.

The serial number will appear in two parts... the first 4 numbers followed by the 2nd 4.

Hope this helps.

Thanks dude. I posted this solution MONTHS ago in big capital letters... search is your friend... once you have these two sets of four digits... you call the dealer and give him these 8 numbers and THEN he will give you the code. They have NO way to look up the code via the VIN number. TRUST me on this one, my buddy works for Acura. Hope that helps!

If you still have the owner's manual mine was inside and there was a card that had it also.

yup, get that 8 digit serial number, call the dealer, tell them that Acura Customer care said that if you provided the dealer with the number, that they would cross reference it for free. That's it. (period)

make sure to get the little letters before the numbers down too. those are also important. when i went in there, i told them to stop bullshitting me about having to pull out the head unit for the serial number and told them i already had it. so they ran the number for free and gave me the code.
