Questions about j35 block swap

Ive tried searching and couldn't find the answers i was looking for so here it goes...

1. will the head and block mate w/ little to no customization
2. what are j35 ppl using for headers (will 03cls6 XS fit?)
3. are you guys using stock j35 pistons, if so whats the compression ratio?
4. and lastly will my 6spd tranny work fine with the block

Thank you in advance for responses

J35A3/J32A2 ('01-02 MDX/CL-S '01-03) or J35A4/J32A2 (Odyssey '02-04/CL-S '01-03)
advantage: great entire powerband and especially torque.
disadvantage: Need CL-S or RL pistons.

The info i found...while good info, do the headers need to be modified and will my 6spd tranny work ( im thinking so but just making sure)

^^^ It's all internal engine work man... no need to mess with your headers or transmission. I wouldn't worry about an entire new block as I think the j32 block is better.

RL pistons will give higher compression and CL-S pistons will keep it lower.
The MDX crank is forged I think and the odyssey crank is cast.

So basically you need:
your pick of crankshaft listed above
bearings seals
pistons
piston rings
crankshaft spacer? I think this crank fits perfectly I may be thinking about the J37 crankshaft.

It should cost about 1000 something dollars if buying the parts you need new.

1. Yes.
No mod required. Incidentally, You can mate J35A3 heads to an Accord J30A1 block with no modification required.

2. 6-speed tranny. Need the bend in primary. XS power is making them again and they will fit.

3. CL-s or 2005 RL pistons(and accompanying ring set)
Comp ratio difference is up in the air. You need to take cylinder head combustion chamber size and shape into account. RL piston costs more than the CL-s, maybe due to better material in the casting. However, .5 difference in the comp ratio will yield minimal power difference.

4. Yes.

J32A2 block uses ductile iron sleeves and the J35A3/A4 uses fiber reinforced metal sleeves. Also the J32A2 block has more external ribbing. Less block flex at higher RPM versus J35 block.

No real data on the crankshaft from a J35A3 or J35A4 being forged. The cast crankshaft is plenty strong for N/A application and even for low boost.

No spacer needed for J32/J35 crank.

J37 crank is shorter than J32, J35.

The Acura internals are forged, but only for weight purposes, not necessarily strength.

Not so sure about that man.

We had a member on J32a.com that had both pistons. He bought the 05 RL pistons NEW. He weighed them both.

CL-s and 05 RL pistons weighed the same. Valve relief pockets looked the same. They both had casting marks. Only visual difference was the underside of the RL piston.
He has since deleted his pictures and is selling/parting out his car.

He was suppose to do a water droplet test but he never followed thru with it.

Unfortunately, he didn't have the right tools/gauge to take measurements from each piston dome.

I still don't know about the data on the Acura internal(s).

Can you post some pics of those components to show they are Forged?

J37 Crank, rods and RL 3.5 Pistons

Rods and pistons closer:

Sadly I dont have close ups. Ive seen the pics of the casting marks on the pistons though, I know what youre talking about there. I didnt see any casting marks on the crank though.

My photobucket account is over bandwidth, it resets on the 7th.
