Questions about Hot Weather

I don't have my acura yet but... I read the brochure every day while I wait. Can someone comment on the following information.

The brochure saids the CL Air Conditioner has the Fastest Cool down in it's class. Is the AC good and cold?

The brochure saids the CL has heat resistant class. Does this help much or do I still need to plan on tinting the windows.

Well, I must say, my new car's AC gets much colder then the CL did and since my car is basically a 4 door CL-S... the the CL-S should have a sweet AC too.

As for the glass....plan on tinting your windows. The "heat resistant" glass only does so much, but when the sun is on your car all day long, only tinting it will keep some of that sun out.....

The a/c does work well in the CL. As for it being the fastest, I don't know but it is fast enough. And I recommend the tint if the car is going to be in the sun.

AC works great. I don't know about the "fastest" claims... sounds like marketing BS to me. But it's certainly adequate. And I oughta know!!

What I can attest to during the last few weeks in Kansas with mid-90 days and over 100 heat index and UV '10' days (almost complete 100% sunshine) is:

When I arrive at work late I part on the rooftop. My blk/blk car will sit there from 9am till 6pm facing the east with windows and sunroof fully closed.

When I get in the car at 6pm, the heat is pretty bad but I open the sunroof, roll both windows down, AC full blast.

By the time I drive down from the 5th level to the 1st level, I can easily close up everything and enjoy nice comfortable inside. The glass combined with the awesome AC will defeat all but the hottest of days in the SW USA (CA, NV, and AZ).

I don't know if any other desert dwellers have experienced this but there have been a few times where I've left the car parked for many hours in direct sunlight with no sunscreen and when I return to leave, the A/C will be completely overpowered. It's like the unit just gives up and starts blowing warm air. After a few minutes, it starts working again and cools things down but it is a nuisance occasionally. My windows are tinted (35% front, 20% rear) but it's the lack of sunscreen that caused the interior to bake. A sunscreen I bought didn't fit well and I've just been lazy to exchange it.

Acura probably designed the A/C system to work efficiently in 99.7% of the climates in the world and certain conditions such as this just reach outside the design limits.

Another feature that they could increase the limit on is the outside temperature display since 113 is not high enough.

My temp gauge was reading 105 when I left work today. That is a record HIGH for me.
The car was sitting out from 6AM to 4:30PM.

With the 35% window tint and a metallic sunshade in the front window the car cooled down in a matter of minutes after driving away.
I don’t open the side windows, but I open the sunroof for the first few minutes with the A/C and that seems to work well.

This East Coast HEAT WAVE better end soon.
The water in my pool out back is 92 FREAKING Degrees.

The AC works great and quick, but I dont know about the fastest. regarding the glass bring you car to Laredo, TX for one day and let's see how fast you say " tint all windows with metallic tint, Please." the window do okay, but you do need tint.

If you want fast, get remote with auto starter, auto-down windows and sunroof, and leave you AC on.

I don't know if it is the fastest but is fast. As far as the heat resistant glass, I go mine tinted and would recoment it to others. Even with the tinting and using a windshield screen it gets plenty hot in the NC summers.
