question about where i put fuel!

i just noticed today while putting gas on my cl that there wasn't a metal flap inside the hole to prevent the gas from coming out. i know in the older cars ( like my civic ), there's a flap that retracts inside when you put the gasoline nossle from the pump in...then it pops back up when you remove the gas nossle. can someone please check and let me know if your car does/doesn't have one of these things.....and that there's nothing there where you put gas except the plain ol' hole and the gasoline cap! i wanna make sure it didn't like fall in my gas tank or something!

Nope, no flap. I just looked with a flashlight in the garage. Maybe that's one reason this car is so quick to trigger the check engine light if the gas cap is not put on properly.

This is normal now that leaded fuel is no longer obtainable.Way back when unleaded first came into the market the skinny filler necks and doors were designed to prevent people from fueling no lead cars with leaded fuel nowadays leaded fuel is history and so are the little doors and skinny filler necks.Jens
