Question about header install in the NoVa area...

Hey guys. Haven't checked the site in a while and wow, just saw the price on the Comptech headers in the "group buy" sticky! A great deal and perfect timing for me to get my first mod done to my CL-S 6spd

I have a question though for anyone here in the NoVa/DC area - can someone give me a suggestion regarding installation? (i.e., where to go to get it done right, how much should i expect to pay, etc.)

Personal anecdotes re: shops/individuals are welcome... and thanks in advance for your time!

Another place you can try is Pohanka Acura. Ask for Jerry and he'll set everything up for you.

I paid $200 for an install at Pohanka that included a loaner.

Only thing that ticked me off was that Jerry told me there was a problem fitting my headers on the car so he told me he had to put the stock headers back on, but forgot to tell me he had to charge me another $200 to put the stock ones back on. So I paid $400 to have the car back to the way it started... I understand paying the $200 but double kindof sucked.

LiQiCE, you probably had OBX headers, right? I had my Comptech headers installed at Pohanka and they had no problem at all installing them.

Nah I had Stone Racing SS Headers. There was a problem with the O2 sensor, it was rubbing up against the oil pan ... Yeah if you have Comptechs you shouldn't have any fitment problems... No worries about Pohanka with Comptech. Its the OBX/Stone ones that you potentially could have a problem with ... but I think even then its not too likely. Just a bigger chance with OBX/Stone than Comptech.

I go to Tischer Acura down in Laurel, MD. Lenny and Brandon are great... and the dealership offers a discount from the standard Acura labor rates for any aftermarket work.

I was going to say Tischer as well. Smaller dealership up in Laurel, but I've heard nothing but good things about them through clubrsx about their aftermarket support. It is in Laurel though, so its not the closest place in the world to NOVA. Probably a 40 minute drive.

I have had great experiences with Brandon and Lenny at Tischer Acura in Laurel on rt. 198. They are honest people, and give a discounted labor rate for aftermarket work. It's worth giving them a call, 301-498-3322.

Ya Lenny goes to some of those clubrsx meets with his modded Integra. They're 30 minutes away for me, but I'd drive that in a second for a good dealership. Have a few installs done at once and make the trip worth your while

Jerry put on my OBX for I think it came to about 178 or so. no problems with fitting issues either. I watched them put them on also. Didn't look all that hard if you had the right tools.
