puttin navi in a non-navi

I have a 01 CL-S non navi. I was wondering how much it would cost and if it is possible to install a navi system. Ive heard because the wiring is linked to the A/C that it would cost a lot. was on a road trip recently and my buddy's gps phone ran outta battery so we got lost .. for a while. wondering if anybody had some info or if somebody actually did a project like this.

i have a pioneer avic-n1 in my acura cl that includes navi. It is a fold out head reciever that uses it's own cd/dvd drive for the discs. There is no unit in the trunk like in the cls navi. It costs 1999.99 and probably another 3-400 hundred to install depending upon where u go

A few members on here have done it. It is possible.

As far as cost I'm not too sure about.

Some did the labor themselves so they only had the cost of materials needed.

why not get one of those aftermarket ones for like a grand? there is no installation and you can move it from car to car...i think you can even go hiking with most of them.

i agree with mg2020, i have 01 acura cls with navi, and also i just purchased an aftermarket navi. since i travel alot, with the aftermarket ones i am able to use it on any rental cars. i do have to admit that the oem navi's are much easier to use.

PM derelict he purchased the OEM navigation complete system (wiring, dash, A/C, screen, hard drive) from me and had it installed locally for an excellent price.

You can get the parts for under $2000 and have it installed for about $500 I believe, maybe less.

i called the dealer once for a complete navi kit...they told me 4400 not installed...if other members are sellin their stock navi then you could possibly get it for 1200-2000 not installed...

FYI: if you do the stock navi swap it adds about 500 to your resale value of the car.

i did a lot of research on it all and it will cost around 1800 when its all said and done (if your doing the install yourself), you can pull out most of the parts needed for like 1,000 or less at the junkyard, but all the little crap adds up

i just went to www.gpsdiscount.com and got myself a garmin and love it

The biggest issue are the wiring harnesses. You can't just unplug the navi and plug it in in your car. Lot's of splicing or repinning the connectors.
