Where is the cheapest place for the UR crank pulley? To all that did this mod would you do it again? Thinking about adding one to the list of mods.....

Yes the crank pulley will only net you the HP gains. The Alternator and P/S pulleys are just for cosmetic purposes only. Even if they are a bit lighter then stock.

You will need a new belt for use with the Crank Pulley.

I got my set of all three at Nopi.com when they had a sale. Velocity Resources can get you a great price on them.

I'd do this again in a second. I fly through the revs now even with the auto. Shifts much faster.

I'm assuming you'll have a set for sale too once the S/C comes in too

I've heard there might be a group buy with Unorthodox coming soon, so sit tight.

You betcha. Already got the 12-Volt Crank in the mail last week.

Chopper was interested awhile ago on the set, so i'm assuming he still wants them.

Awesome.

Your butt dyno may not register anything but I guarantee you'll seem those shifts happen much quicker now.

Well obviously I'll be going to the Dynojet after pulleys/mugen mods/RES. Might need an updated UniChip tune.

And you know i'll be track testing as usual

nothing will help you in 4th, aside from a 6-speed pushing you.

Alternator is, P/S pulley is to compensate for the crank's underdrivement (<--??). Otherwise it will make wierd noises since the steering pump doest make enough psi...wheel will rotate at 300rpm instead of 750 with the stock OEM. P/S pulley is the solution baby.

Countless people are running just the UR crank pulley with none of the problems you listed. In fact i've never heard any of that crap before. Compensate for the crank's "underdrivement"? Lets not make up words 1st off, people won't take your group buy seriously if you are illiterate not to mention ignorant.

The power steering pulley is the same size as the stock pulley, it is only very very slightly lighter in weight. Not enough to compensate for the "underdrivement" problem you proposed.

well then my mechanic (Head mech of Ed Morse Acura) BSd me? any of you mechanics?...i gotta talk to UR and ask them about the sizes, not that i dont believe you, i just wanna make sure.

Msteve-> did you ever wonder why i put " (<--??)" next to that word? Just so you know, i've been in the US for 3years, with no previous background/knowlege in english not to mention im perfectly fluent in spanish and french (venezuelan and 1/2my family is french) the only ignorant comment on this thread was your response.

Balder-> most likely those duds have an exhaust or a system that fades the sound. Dud, just an exhaust or even the stock radio with 4bars of volume is enough to kill the sound.

Or, maibe you guys are right and my pump got dammaged during the installation.

Seriusly this is a pointless fight, i was asking for help not critics...lets keep it peacefull from now ok?

I had the full UR set b/f my supercharger. I loved them. The crank pulley is the only one that actually does anything. No weird sounds, vibrations, blah, blah, blah...just smoother acceleration. The UR website has a dyno that shows (I believe) 13.5hp/7.5tq. Check the site to be sure. I bought the 12v crank pulley for the SC. No underdriving on that one but most gains are from the weight reduction, not the underdriving.

Regardless of how long you've been in this country or how well your English is, the statements you made were IGNORANT. You didn't know what you were talking about, just like the UR group buy you are trying to start on A-TL. You are telling members the most important aspect of the UR pulleys is the power steering pulley and that if I have an aftermarket stereo I must by all 3 pulleys. That is a load of crap and if someone had not have spoken up people would have been wasting their money on something they didn't need, yet they bought them because you provided false information.

PERIOD

i had the crank pully and it gave me some boost. But with all my tranny problems, i couldnt get all the power down right. The only thing that annoyed me was the squeeking belts and i had gates belts like they said to have. I also tried different sizes.

My stock accesory belt is squeaking now so I figured it was a good time to get the UR pulleys since the belts needed replaced anyways.

WTF are you serious!? I dont think I want the pulley anymore. I dont want to be driving around with squeaky belts thats just down right embarrassing.

How bad is it? When does it happen?

Would you do the mod again if you could do it over?

Yeah the noise is there.

It’s not too bad. I never hear it except at startup and when I standing still. Basically lights etc. When I’m going real slow, like pulling up into the driveway, I’ll hear it then. If I was to leave the car on and get out you can hear it. Its not loud or anything and you really have to listen for it, but I hear it and I know its there.

For what this mod did to my car it definitely outweighs the squeak. Hopefully when they come off and just the 12v are put on I won't have this problem. Cuz I don't know which belt is causing the squeak considering I have all 3 pulleys.

Squeeking? Check tooth alignment on the belts, they generally rid of squeeking 99% of the time.

I wonder if it's just the PS belt cause I'm only running the Alternator and Crank pulleys.

hopefully its PS, I'm only doing the crank pulley.

Hey wheres that guy that said your PS will whine with the pulleys because the PS pulley is smaller? Maybe he was mistaken, and thought a PS whine was a belt squeak.

The PS pulley is the same size as stock. It is slightly lighter though. The stock crank pulley must be made of lead! That thing is so heavy compared to the UR! I couldn't believe it.
