Got the pulleys and all I can say is sweeeet. They make a noticable improvement but we will know for sure once I get it dyno'd. Here are some pictures for those that care...

I had them installed at CarBoy for 80. I purchased them off of AutoCarParts.com. They rock!

WebToker,

Nice Pulleys. I had a set on my Lude Si once. Revs much quicker, so I guess you get to the power range quicker.

Are these pulleys for teh Accord? Or oare they truly designed for the CL-S?

Are you following me?? First the intake and now the pulleys, JK...

Anyway, did your shop mention anything about the install? Specifically anything related to my post about the install. I am curious if they used an impact gun or wrenched it??

Although I did not notice a gain in power overall, I did notice a better throttle response. This occurs down low especially, I have to be judicious with the throttle now so that I don't bark off the line (embarrassing in traffic).

Scalbert/Webtoker:

Could you further describe how the pulleys feel? Does your engine really rev faster? Are the drawbacks appararent? You guys try A/C yet?

I would expect a lightened flywheel to make a diff, not pulleys. I'm hoping for positive feedback

Thanx for the info.

I can feel the difference for sure. I turned my stereo with sub, navi, HIDs, and AC and everything works the same. I guess we will know better over time. All I have to say is, damn I can't wait till I goto the track.

I also got them from Tim and they (at the time) were not made directly for the CL-S. Maybe they have shipped them but in the pics their is no differences. Box and size look identical.

But did you notice one thing. How the PS pulleys isn't much larger whereas the alternator is significantly.

It really is hard to tell the net gain for me, I'm very conservative in this matter and would rather let the track/dyno show the gains.

But IMO, there is a significant throttle response difference. The pulleys should improve torque throughout the range (which is a hard thing to notice) and they seem to have accomplished this. I have to be more careful off the line even with this warmer weather lately.

As for testing. I ran the car for 45 minutes at idle, in 80 degree weather with the AC on, headlights on and the stereo (200 watt amp installed) at about 1/2 to 2/3 volume and never experienced a voltage drop. The was measured and scoped with a Tectronix meter.

webtoker,
when stopped at a light with the lights on, do you notice that the lights dim some? i definetely noticed this on my previous prelude and it caused my battery to die on me once.
i also felt the power gain, but i hated always having to make sure i don't idle too long. stopping at traffic lights is fine b/c the alternator recharges the battery right away when you drive off.
BUT, sitting at idle for over 10 min can be risky. and as you battery gets older the time decreases.
keep an eye on things.

Do the belts come with the pulleys? For 140 it sounds like a good upgrade?

I remember adding the pulleys to my integra. They did make a difference. For $140 it really sounds tempting =)

It would be great to FAQ the pictures.

The pictures of the old headers helped with packing issues -- some of this stuff is of great use!

I would love to see the next set of track times with all the "goodies" added.

I bet the alternator armature is rather heavy -- this should help nicely!

Just some more FYI on the pulleys. Here's a link to the forum I moderate also discussing the pulleys except for the Accord V6.

http://superhonda.org/board/showthre...5843#post55843

There's a lot more discussion on the pros and cons of what may happen if you install pulleys. I'm not sure if they put a stronger alternator in the CL-S or not so that will have a major impact on what might happen (battery drainage?)

I wouldn't worry too much about our lights since the HID's use less power than reg . headlights.

I've had my pulleys with a 600watt stereo as seen here:

Since Nov of 2000 with not a single dead battery.

Just don't play your stereo real loud with the car is idling and definitely don't play the stereo when the car is off.

The only reason I even noticed the lights dim a little at idle is because I was directly behind a friend of mine and I started reving on him... when I did I noticed my lights got a little brighter on his bumper.

The A/C still cools as good as it did before and the temp is gradually getting hotter here in the south. (Mid to high 80's now)

The biggest gain I noticed is how easy it is to break the tires lose from a stop or a rolling start.
