Proud New Owner...
Just bought myself an '03 CL Type-S 6-spd this past weekend.
Love the car, but after having an S2000, the shifter is a tad too high. Anyone have recommendations for shortening it? I was thinking of putting an S2000 knob on it as well.
What are the best short shifters?
Let me know. Thanks, and I hope to learn alot from this board.

The shorter S2000 knob will make a difference in the throw distance, it's also metal and heavier than the stock knob. I have the TSX knob which is similar to the S2000 but the shift pattern is in red, not black. I'd like to go shorter but just changing to the shorter knob improved it a lot.

Welcome and congrats on your new purchase.
As for me, every car becomes a money pit. I've yet to spend less than $3000 on work for each car, except my first one. Anyway, good luck modding

welcome aboard as far as shortening the shifter, if you change the knob to something that is shorter and has a deeper hole than stock that will definitely help (my momo knob is definitely shorter than stock). Your other option is to cut the shaft.
As far as other mods go, this car can get expensive really fast as far as mods go. I've probably spent somewhere between $5k-$8k on this thing and i've had it for just under 2 yrs.
No matter what you do with it, enjoy it. It's a Great car!

Sounds like you're in the same boat as me. I actually still have my 01 GPW S2000 though. I did buy an S2000 shifter for the CL and it does make a difference. I like it a lot more than the stock leather one, plus it doesn't look real ricey or anything. looks like it's supposed to be there. By the way, what year/color S2000 did you have?

I had an '02 Sebring Silver S2000. I LOVED that thing, should have NEVER sold it. My ex of 3 years and I broke up, so I traded it in for an '04 330Ci Auto as a "cleansing".
That lasted all of 7 months, now I'm back into Vtec.

I missed the 6-spd. I really wanted an '04 S4, but it's still a little out of my price range. I love driving, and with the Auto 330 I felt like I was just throwing my money away. If I just wanted to drive from A to B I would have gotten something a lot cheaper.
