Project: Boost Her-UP

Ok, I'm very competitive and since my buddy just put a stage 2 supercharger on his '99 TL-P I need to up my '01 CL-S horsepower now
I wanna go the turbo route and source a turbo off a wreck cuz im too cheap and lazy to buy a name brand kit
Was wondering which car would have a turbo that would be easier to fabricate onto my CL-S (i.e. Volvo ,Mitsubishi, Audi...anything with a stock turbo pretty much)?
Also what else would I be looking into to achieve possible HP results of lets say...360-380HP?

thanks in advance

yea it would be way to expensive goin for a name brand kit, seeing as there are so many out there for the 3.2s. However, I hear SS Autochrome is in the making of a reliable, cheap kit for our cars.

and nice jock on the title

turbo is gonna be 1.5 - 2x as expensive as supercharger because it has to be completely custom. even other cars turbo will cost too much w/o certain results. supercharger is only option besides the other option of just accepting what your car is and knowing going fast is just overrated...ummmm

ok S/C'er is ONLY option. i think there was recently an intercooler for sale in the BM. search for it before your buddy gets to it! lol. intercooler and high boost pulley and S/C allows for stage 3 [9psi]. a CL-S auto will be well over 300Whp at 9psi. i would say 330at least, but it'll cost ya...

a TL-P with HBP is only like 280Whp tops? you dont need intercooler to inch it unless you want a kill...and are ACTUALLY serious about all this.

cant be cheap with this boosting stuff, if you dont have the money accept you're slower.

besides this, SEARCH!!!! it'll be worth your time.

^coming from a guy who outruns Sti's, Evo8's, Merc CL63 (oh yeah the black edition), Boxters, Integras with Spoon engines, Z06's, a Viper or two, and an Enzo... ALL by his CLP. And he keeps on proving it every day

I think he even published a theory on it... '01WhiteCLpee, didn't you write a theory on it?

I sense some hostility... ... can't we all just get along... to the OP SEARCH Thinjim if you want to go turbo... Your not gonna go any form of FI and expect to do it cheap. Factor in tuning, dyno time, parts, labor, etc.

the only thing u can get off a wrecked car would be the snail shell and possibly intercooler.. all the piping, downpiping, exhaust and shit is gonna custom. GL.

im working on the same project for mine, buddy has a boosted accord, and sold it stock, and he gave me all his parts, ill still probly spend 1000.00 plus to get it running decent.

I'm sure it wouldn't take too much effort to get it to work on an A/T.

hey the auto trans def. has problems , personally i think riding it hard is better ... i had 50K and 500 passes on my second auto ... seemed fine... btw i was just thinking about this today ... my trans would flash to anywhere from 3000 to 3500 , yet in 5th at cruise it could be as low as 2500 rpm , i almost wonder if thats where the problem was , wouldnt get torque convertor lock up at cruise .
