My buddy has a 2003 RSX Type S and i have an 03 CL-S. He wanted to race for $100 on some abandoned street on sunday. He loves talking crap and thinks his car is lightning fast but i think i can beat him so i accepted. Both cars are stock.....what can i expect?

 

I raced my buddies rsx s, he has an 01, and I do as well (01cl-s 115k)... we raced from a 20mph roll, and I took him.. he has intake headers ... and I've got intake headers pullys, exhaust.... I had him by 1.5 car length by the time i hit 125.
( i know my underdrive pully helps alot)
if you are a 6speed u should skunk him.

 

if you're real nervous, look at the 1/4 mile time for each car.

 

it will probably be close. If he has a 5 speed maybe he will mess up shifting and you will be golden.

 

Unless he put a custom 5 speed in it, it will be a 6MT. All RSX type S were 6MT.

 

They didn't start making the RSX until 02 but I believe you are referring to a 02.

 

It is definantly a drivers race between the two cars but I will give the slight edge to your CL-S. Those cars can run high 14's stock without much trouble just like a stock auto CL-S. If your a 6spd CL-S you will beat him.

 

I could take him for sure if I had the 6MT. I don't want to do a roll because the SS shifts into 2nd automatically if your going more than 10mph and your stepping on it so I'll probably do it from a stop. VSA on or off?

Try again, RSX was produced from 2001-2006 and there definitely was a 2001 model.

 

Try again bro. The RSX first came out as a 2002 model. The car did debut in July of 2001 but as a 2002 Model! Do a search! It will help you!

Yea the RSX replaced the Integra. The last Integra made was a 2001 and the RSX was presented as a 2002 model in 01
