Problems.... Is it the transmission?

I have been noticing my car acting a little strange lately. It is a 03 CL-P. I am at 60k and have an extended warranty from PAA. Last week I noticed some jerking when I was braking that felt to me like the transmission was slipping when downshifting gears. The car also lunged forward faster than the normal crawl when i let go of the brake (like the car was already in a higher gear). I put the car in neutral and the rpms were jumping from 1k to 2k over and over. I put it in park (rpms still jumping) and revved the engine and the jumps in the rpms stopped. I put it in drive and it drove like normal.

Today the same problem happened. A strange slipping feeling when driving at low speeds in traffic and lunging forward when i let go of the brake, then rpms jumping in park or neutral. This time revving the engine didn't remedy the situation. I have no lights on or anything like that.

What do you guys think? Tranny? O2 sensor? Would an O2 sensor be covered by an extended warranty from acura?

Thanks for the help!

When my tranny was on it's way out I felt a grinding at low RPM's.
like at 2000-2500 RPms it would grind when excelerating really slow.It would also downshift really hard at times.
If its a ACURACARE extended warrenty not a 3rd party warrenty then your 02 sensor should be covered, if its a 3rd party warrenty then they will look for any reason not to pay for the repairs!

It is acuracare and I bought it at park ave acura (where I would take it). I would like to take it in, but its only happened twice and I am afraid that it would not do it when I bring it in. I just got my tranny fluid changed by them also... they would really have no excuse.

Some one also suggested the butterfly valve of the throttle bottle might be getting stuck. Does that make sense to any of you? I just had the IACV replaced at park ave under the extended warranty, i don't know if that makes a difference.

One other factor that probably has nothing to do with it... i've been using cheaper gas from a no name gas station, but still premium. I switched back this tank to the good stuff, i doubt it will make a difference, but hey, who know what they put in that cheap gas.

Do what I did!
When i had 95k miles on my car a few years back and my warrenty was up at 100K my tranny started acting up. The dlr flushed the ATF and sent me on my merry way so at 98K i went back with the same problem and still they said nuttin was wrong (BTW my tranny went 2 times b4 this time so I know how the tranny acted b4 it went out) So at 99,500 i went back and still nuttin they said it was fine even so right after I took a ride to the meadowlands parking lot ant 2 hours later my car was back at the dealership on a flatbed. A few nuetral drops did the trick!

Is the tach bouncing back and forth from 1 to 2 rpms normally a sign of transmission failure??? I was reading the faq and it doesnt list that as one of the signs of pending failure.
