Problems with TCS please help

My 03 CL-P has been acting up lately.

Everytime I start out driving, the TCS always kicks in for a few seconds and I hear it kinda grinding or pulling back, so I gain traction again. I got new tires, new rims on it so I know I'm not actually slipping at the wheels.

Oddest thing, last night i was crusing and in the middle of nowhere, my ABS LIGHT and TCS Light turned on. I was just cruising. Then I pulled into a gas station, shut the car off, and filled up. I got back in my car and drive off, it was still on. Just as I was about to pull into my driveway it shut off.

I don't know what my piece of crap is doin, I'm about ready to send it to the wrecking yard.

Suggestions? Any help?

its not a bad wheel speed sense because my Pioneer Z1 has vehicle dynamics that hooks up to the factory speed sense and it seems to be working fine. It doesn't jump everytime i slip.

Bad wheel sensor...

Sounds like a bad or dirty wheel sensor.....You need to get the ABS and TCS codes read (they would have been set when the ABS and TCS lights came on) to figure out what the issue is.

I have a 97 3.2 TL which was exhibiting the same symptoms. Texashonda told me how to get the codes off (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128649)

BUT the process to read codes for an 03 CL-P might be completely different so taking it to the dealer is a good idea. It's an electric component and they check resistance to figure out if it's bad. They would most probably charge you 50 bucks for a diagnostic check.

When a wheel sensor goes bad, it shorts or gives out electical noise causing intermittant issues similar to what you are seeing.

If it is indeed a wheel sensor - there are two possibilities.

It is dirty and a simple cleaning might get it working. OR it's bad in which case it needs to be replaced.

Two articles which might explain it better. They are for older cars but give out good information

ABS Speed Sensor Service

Mastering Early Honda & Acura ABS Systems

Hope that helps.

my dealership rate is $101 per hour for diagnosing as long as it takes. Hrmm, I was thinking it was my transmission. But maybe not anymore. I looked at that link, is there a page that shows all the diagnostic codes for tcs and abs?
i am not sure exactly where that plug is on the passenger side either, can you tell me what to look for and where?

thanks
