Problems With Door Sills!!!!

Just tried to install the door sills from evolution-autodesign, and they won't stick at all. I called Jeff, and he said I needed to wipe the plastic down with Acetone (which I did many times), and yet the door sills still won't stick at all. I'm thinking about removing the double sided tape, and just buying some sort of super glue to use instead. Do you think this will work??? Are there any other solutions? I know many people have had this same problem in the past, but I am unsure as to how they fixed this problem. Thanks again for any help!

Try using a 3M molding tape you can get from autozone, it sticks really well, just make sure you heat it up with a hairdryer for max adhesiveness.
My lip spoiler's been glued tight to the trunk since winter. Stay away from permanent adhesive like super glue, it'll mess up your stock sill.

I've had my sills for a while but have not attempted to install because I think there will be problems with application. I like the look tho. Besides the glue problem, the top of the plastic molded threshold does not seem a secure place for these. They need a perfectly flat surface IMO. I'm considering installing on the outer ledge of the door frame which is totally flat.
I just don't think these things are gonna last long because they bend easily, have very sharp rough edges, are flimsy.
It's a great idea and look but it doesn't seem long lasting or practical.
I would avoid permanent glues since when you may need to probably remove these sills then you've damaged the surface underneath.
I haven't figured out what I want to do with mine. Probably will install on the outside edge of door frame.

I installed them the day I got them and there still on dispite my thoughts. They look really good and there should be no bending issues because I don't know about you but I dont' use the door sill as a step

I cleaned the sill with acohol then acetone then acohol. Then I stuck them and let them sit over night. At first you could pop the edges up quite easily but after a few days the tape has cured and they are on pretty good. You don't need much to hold them on as long as you don't kick them or anything.

I have had no problems at all with mine. I wiped down the stock sills with water and windex ( ), pressed the new sills on with the tape that was supplied, and they have stayed put ever since (March or April, I believe).

I know I will be careful getting in the car but others won't always step over the sill, they kick them, knock them etc.
Maybe only install the driver's side!

My passenger side is fine but the drivers side keeps coming loose at the front. I plan on using contact cement this weekend. If it works, I might pull them both off and cement them both.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'll probably just end up removing the tape from the door sills and put some kind of super-glue on instead. Hopefully this will work .

I don't get how one would be kicking or scratching these with his/her feet. I don't step on my sills, nor does my girl when she gets in the passenger side. In fact, it seems kinda hard to step/drag one's feet over them.

Mines been on for over 4 months with the stock tape and they look like new. I made sure to clean the sill with simple green and then alcohol before sticking them.

Dunno guys. I'm pretty much the same as AtlCL, got mine in the first groupbuy over a year ago... never had a problem with them not sticking or falling off... I'm sure they've been stepped on more than once.

I caught the drivers side sill with the edge of my foot when I was getting in the car. It bent the sill but doesn't look too terrible. It is pretty easy to catch the edge of your foot on them IMO. I certainly can't see anyone stepping on them to get in the car though.
