price for a new 6MT CL-S?

The subject says it all. Black/parchment 2003 6-speed. I think it has been on the dealer's lot for about a year. One salesman said I could "steal" it at $28k, and I tried not to laugh.

What a joke! My local dealer still has a really nice new blue one in his showroom (Type S/Auto) for 6K off the MSRP (even before you talk to them).

Heh. This is the same dealer that had a $3500 markup for vehicle availability when the 3.2 CL's first came out. Mind you they had about 10 of them on the lot with that surcharge.

At any rate, I doubt they'll go as low as I'd need it to be in order to get the car. As it pains me to think about it, I might have to settle for the 4-banger Accord w/ cloth interior as my next vehicle. A house comes first before a nice car, and this way the Accord can be my beater in a few years when I get my 6-speed TL. At least the Accord has a manual tranny and a nice interior -- not too in love with the exterior though.

I paid $28.5k before TTL, but I also got a free spoiler & 100k $0 deductible Acura warranty. I would say $28k out the door is pretty reasonable, seeingas how they retail for ~ $25- 26k with low miles on them right now.

FYI:

Last month I bought a 2003 Type S 6spd, SMR w/ Black, non-navi, wheel locks, trunk mat, & muds. I paid 26K plus tax and it was brand new. The dealer got the car in July of 2002 and was never able to move it. However, last month Honda was offering 2K factory to dealer but that ended Feb 29th. Currently there are no incentives of any kind on left over CL's.

Red with black are pretty rare congrats, surprised no one ever bought it. I think the white with black is even rarer.

That's a decent price.... you could probably get it for $27K + usual costs

You could always go to another dealer & ask them for a better price, & then have that dealer buy the car from the high $$ dealer. Just like a dealer trade.

I've been asking 23k for my 6 speed, 15k miles, but no offers or many calls at all on it locally or Autotrader, or ebay.... but I was hoping to sell it locally.

I plan to sell it to a local dealer next week. He told me the car looks like I never drove it, it is clean. Dealer will probably retail it at $25k? or more. There are no CLs on any dealer lot in my town.

Good luck, be patient and you'll find one you want, it's abuyer's market.

I just paid 24.5 for my Black/Black CLS 6speed with NAVI and 12K on it form the dealer. I wouldn't pay any more than 26K if you really want it. But as said before patience is the key, they were asking 29K for mine.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm just going to get the I4 Accord LX w/ 5MT. MSRP is about $20k with cloth interior and alloy rims as the only option. Holy moly those wheel covers on the base models are nasty. I test drove it the other day and was surprised that it had some pep -- I thought it would be a total dog.
