Price for a lease on CLS?

I have done a search and read through some of the stuff, but what is the quickest way to find out monthly cost for lease, how much up front $$$, etc.

I think I am gonna do this for the 6MT CLS as I seem to always want to get a new car every 3 years so I am just going to admit that and do it wisely. I am just going to assume about 30K for the cost of the car. Perhaps just use the 02 CLS as a guide with its residuals or whatever ... interested in various down payment vs. monthly cost options...

Is there such a thing as a free lease calculator? By the way - Acura is clear as mud on its web site on this topic

On a lease its usually $16 per thousand. so a 30K car would be around $480 per month.

Now dont go quoting me on this

The dealer offered me $440 a month for a 2002 CLS lease with $1500 down. 39 months, 12kmiles/yr. So if the 6MT is $2000 more than 2002 CLS, then i guess u can get it for $460-470.

Anytime you put more money down when buying a car the payments will drop. But be warned.. The way the lease works is, you are paying for the cars depreciation over the span of time you will be "useing" it. Say the value for a CL is 15K after 3 yrs and was 30K to start. Basically your paying 15K plus paperwork, interest and any other misc fees.

15000 Car
1500 interest
1000 paperwork
1000 misc stuff
______________
18500 divided by 36 = $513

if you put down 10% ($1500) that will knock you down to about $470

Right now there is a big sale on 2002 CLS's
I got mine for 430 / month nothing dow, tax in the payment (8.25% in NY)
I got it with spoiler ($15/mo) and 15k/year ($15/mo) for 39 mo
So, without spoiler and with 12k/year and tax upfront it would be around 370
Regular price would be around 430 with tax upfront....
it all depends on a dealer...
In the summer I left a deposit for 2002 TLS with spoiler, wood trim, and 15k/year - it was 449/mo for 42 months with tax upfront.
without all the options and 12k/y it would be around 405-410
and that was regular price. but they did not find my color so I bailed out... right now I was offered 395/mo for 42 mo, 15k/year,
spoiler with tax upfront....
hope this helps

well i was just wondering if I would be able to put more down and try and get the payments around like $350 or a little more, but under 400. I dont think I want to buy a car because seems like i get tired of it after a while and I want a new one but then I akm suck with this huge loan. My CL first gen now, I bought a year ago for 20k, now I really want a cls but i still have a 16k loan and I wouldnt be able to sell it for that yet. Maybe when I get the car down to 14k I can sell it and try and get a cls.

since you've done leases how do you like it compared to buying the actual car? what advantages/disadvantages?

My deal....... $0 down....420 month 48 months

DONT FORGET.....if the 6sp MT is suppoosed to be """LIMITED PRODUCTION""""

you can throw all your leasing figures out the window!.....you just have to wait and see.

My guess...due to the limited availability...a 6spMT CL-S is gonna run you $20-30 higher than a normal CL-S..regardless of options....just my opinion

I understand - just wanted to get a baseline ... thanks for all the input guys ... just wanna see what that option looks like.

I know I have one option which is to buy at 7.25% for 6 years with zero down and that comes out to about $515/month, but I own it after the 6 years. However ... to get out early on a 6 year loan on a car is bad times

Well, this will happen for 2 reasons, 1) a lower residual for the 6spd vs. the standard car 2) What you said, its the same situation with the M3, no discount/no program- car dealers can bang you on the rate (back end reserve) on desireable, hard to get cars that are really tough to find-you can't shop around for them. So, they can quote you whatever, the going rate on a 2002 BMW M3 (a $50,500 car) is approx $900, 36 months, 12k year, 4k out of pocket....as you can tell, thats a shitty lease, but thats what it is for the moment.

Hopefully, there will be enought CL 6spds to go around, that dealers will have to be realistic on their lease prices.....I don't think there will be a program right away, so anyone jumping on the bandwagon immediately is going to get their feelings hurt on a lease (if they decide to go that route).
