so thats kinda out of the question.

Exactly, because even doug admitted that he could not even get that chip for and afford to sell it for $300.
I'll tell you right now...when we do get a chip...it'll cost more in the range of $700+

Maybe since you talked to him. But last I heard the cams coming from Japan for the TL and CL were only for the CLP and TLP...not CLS and TLS. But then again doug is making them himself...But he also said it bolts on...so MchtypeS do you think he's oversuing the phrase "bolt-on"?

I've said it before in another post but I guess it got lost.

It's not cams. It's something new that installs in minutes. Even the least-technically inclined among us can install it (and yes that also goes for the guy who called a ratchet the "thing that clicks when it turns").

I think his mod is tied with the Type S acuator perhaps blowing additional air into the system when our mini supercharger effect is working.

possibly but that wouldnt help the entire ouput range nor wuld it smooth the curves in the dyno the way it does

Ah what I mean to say was tied into when the actuator moves, activating this "thing" and forcing additional air into the engine. Or perhaps a mod on the actuator itself.

Didn't someone try activiting it early before and actually lose power?

Syncivic (himself) stated that there was about 15HP of low-end rpm loss by activating too early (leaving the actuator on) and a 25HP high-end rpm loss with it not working (the dreaded CLS to CLP conversion)

Kind of like the venturis in a four bbl carb, if anyone is old enough to remember? Seems like it would expand on the low end torque/high end flow like our IMRC and vtec timers do. Rick Case Acura has been working on turbos and up to 4.1 liter motors. I know they have had to deal with throttle bodies in their quest for the perfect CL.

Our exhaust flows are pretty well maxed out if you have headers/cai/exhaust. The bottleneck is the throttle body. We already have an almost perfectly tuned ecu, cams wouldn't take a few minutes to install, and their optimized already, gears and flywheels would be most benifitial on race and manual tranny cars. </STRONG>
This guess sounds the best to me.
