Put your hand on the top cover, rev it up to about 4k, you should feel a pop.

From this pic do we need part #8? the egr pipe

Also what IM gasket did you use the CL one, 09 tl one, both, or neither. I have the p2r im gasket for the cl.

Just wanted to make sure I had everything needed.

The CL/TL manifold gasket is used. The only gasket you need is one 09 TL TB gasket. That goes between the manifold and the tb adapter. Then you use another CL/TL TB gasket for the adapter-TB flange.

Here is a good question. how much horsepower gains will i see if i port my stock cl-s intake manifold and runners. port and polish my heads and bore my cl-s throttle body to 71mm. i can do all the work myself as i work for a machine shop. Im talking without the plenums. just a p2r throttle body spacerr and thermal intake manifold gasket??? its going on a stroked to 3.5 with rl pistons

Thats a completely different modification as its not a bolt on, so it doesnt really belong in this thread. But clearly you would see more power then plenums or the manifold swap.

Seeing as the non S does not have the ability to open the butterfly, I'd think there would be virtually no benefit without having that ability.

While reading this thread I noticed that you can use an RPM switch to do it. But someone said that causes tuning issues. I was wondering what those issues might be.

I don't see there being any issues, as in, incompatibility. It just adds one more variable that must be accounted for. If anything, you are better off, because granting control of it to the RPM switch versus the ECU allows decentralized, more direct control of it. See what I'm saying? I don't think the piggybacks like Greddy Emanage interact with the type S additional features anyways, and even the type S is set-up for a pretty simple operation: hit the necessary RPM, open the butterflies, increase fuel, change timing. Even VTEC is independent, and people have been changing VTEC engagement points for years with no problems to better suit an engine after modifications.
