it's a entry level JAG what do people expect plus it's led by ford.....

 

I think they can expect it to at least live up to the Jag name. IMHO, I think that if a car manufacturer can't put out a car at a cheap price range that still holds to all their standards, then they just shouldn't do it. It's stupid to ruin your name so you can try to get into another level of buyer.

 

All I know is that when I commented about my dissatisfaction with the new lineup of Jags a couple of months ago I got slammed!!!!!

 

But what exactly is the Jag name? Luxury.....and performance, not reliabiltiy or value....but then you aren't gonna get either with a 2.5L v6 base engine...or for $30K base.....

 

Hey moo, I think that's his point entirely. If they can't make a Jag with all the commensurate luxury and refinement for 30K, then don't make it at all. Much better that than this X-thing they're pushing off on an unsuspecting public.

Anyway (this is an aside) why should they lower the bar! They should stick to what works for them....if you can't afford the XJ series or higher then you just can't afford a Jag....don't pander to the lowest common denominator! I can't afford a Modena 360...and I wouldn't want a cheap version that didn't have any of the legendary Ferrari performance, style and verve...it's just not the same.
