Ok, here's how to do it. First, remove the map lights and sunglasses holder. This can be done by opening the sunglasses holder and removing the two screws and popping off the cover of the map lights and removing the screws in there. After that is loose, pull it down and unplug the rear-view mirror. After the mirror is unplugged, gently pull the rear-view mirror down toward the dash. Mirror should now be off.

Thank you AnthraciteBeast those scanned pages were really helpful! I had a terrible time getting my mirror off to put on a replacement until I read over those pages.

Okay, so I just got the old mirror off and a replacement mirror that I got from a junked CL installed, but now I have a problem.

The new mirror is really loose.. like, if I adjust the mirror, it wants to slide off the lug attached to the window, and into my hand. Did I install it wrong? I slide the replacement mirror back on by sliding it towards the headliner.

If it's just going to be like that, could I put a sealer or something around the edge of the bracket to snug it up to the mirror? If so, what would you suggest that wouldn't damage the window or the bracket?

Whatever you do, don't use any kind of sealant on the mirror. I had the same problem when I swapped my mirror. The mounting 'rail' on the new mirror is prolly just bent out of shape a bit. Its a bitch to bend it back but with some patience and a good set of pliers you should be able to take care of it no problem.

Slide the mirror off of the windshield bracket and look at the metal 'rail' where the mirror mounts to the windshield. Using some pliers just squeeze/bend the rail so that its closer together and keep testing it on the windshield until its nice and snug.

I'm warning you now, you gotta put some real elbow grease into this, so don't think you'll just bend it real quick. Good luck, let me know how it goes

I bet the rail that was suggested and the mirror was snug at first, but over the last few days has proceeded to slip off the window and dangle off the cable while I'm driving.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.. probably a stupid mistake. But can you be more specific. Do you squeeze the tabs on the back side of the mirror bracket closer together or pull apart? Or is it the little block looking thing attached to the window that needs to be squeezed? I've tried just about everything and can't get the mirror to stay put.

Its the tabs on the backside of the mirror bracket that need to be squeezed. The 'slide' onto the square mount that is attached to the windshield. So the closer together the tabs are the tighter the fit.
