I'm not a big chromie lover but I got a great deal on a set of chromed stock rims. Dresses up the white car quite a bit, not sure if I'll sell the stock rims or keep them for switching again.

About $750. I figure I can sell the stock rims for $400-500 on ebay if I decide to sell them, not sure.
Thanks for the comps, I do want to drop it, it's a high-rider!

Damn, they look nice in chrome

When I saw Dave's (the powdercoater) wheels, I was tempted to buy some stock 03 rims to have chromed, but figured the cost to buy 'em, ship 'em to CA and have 'em powdercoated chrome would almost be as much as buying larger aftermarket rims.

Now $750 sounds like a sweet deal.

I thought about chromin' out my rims too, then I put that same money into something that I could "feel" everytime I got on the pedal .. headers + icebox... going in this saturday...

Thanks for the comments but now the chromies are for sale! I'm a more subdued dude so I went with stock 03 TLS rims (15 miles on em), brand new, they are not as prone to scratches since they don't stick out as much as the CLS wheels, and got a full set of new tires too.
Selling stock 03 CLS rims, 1 chrome set, 1 stock set.

I'd love to drop but I have a lot of questions. I'm not willing to give up too much in ride comfort but I've never experienced the handling difference with spring/sway mods. I'd probably go comptech but I hear I'd need new shocks too? Anyone locally in Austin want to talk or show and tell?

I was hesitant too, but I guess this board made me do it. Damn peer pressure.

The Comptech set-up, IMHO, really did not change ride comfort. The car feels essentially the same as stock. It may be a tad stiffer when you're on a bad road (ie: you'll feel the bumps a bit more), but when you're on a smooth highway you won't notice a difference.

My wife, who has no interest in stiffened sports cars, didn't even notice the upgrade until I did some twisties and the car didn't roll. Same ride comfort to her discerning taste.

The car handles much better, especially in turns. It's a world of difference and very much worth it. Like many others have said, the Comptech set-up is really the way Acura should have decked out a Type S car. You really won't be giving up much, and there a lot of gain.

Shocks -- I didn't change them. I figure that I'll change them out when they go. The stock shocks with stock springs should last 100K miles -- with the Comptech set-up they'll probably last less, but we're still talking 10s of 1000s of miles of good life. To me, I didn't see the justification of upgrading the shocks at this time. I'll probably go to Koni Yellow when the time comes. It'll be a little stiffer then stock. I've had Konis before in another car and they do stiffen things up a bit (to quite a bit).

Some think it's worth it to do shocks at the same time because of labor costs. I'd rather wait. YMMV.
