Pissed .... rock hit windshield

900 miles on my car and she's no longer a virgin. I was driving on the 5 Freeway South and a friggin' rock hit my windshield. 1/2" crack in the middle about 3" up from the dash. Fortunately it didn't hit the hood too.

Anyone ever get that crack repair done. I think they heat the crack to seal it or something like that.

Yeah it happen to mine, but it's never the same, If it is in your line of site I think the insurance company can cover it with no deductible or something like that. I'm not sure how it works. But the one I had fixed for $40 bucks they put some apoxy (sp) and heated it and told me to keep it in the sunlight. It looks better and stops it from spreading but you can still see it's there. Kinda sucks but oh well.

That's happened to me a couple times already. All I remember is that loud "crack" you hear when the rock hits. It makes me cringe everytime it happens.

Yeh I have a nice rock chip but it's not too big and on the passenger side of the windshield.

Usually if they repair it, the insurance company will waive the deductible.

If it is in your line of sight they CANNOT fix it with the “crack repair kit” because of the possibility of a distorted view.
And, if it’s too close to the edge it won’t work either.

I got hit with a GOLF BALL in my Daytona Shelby-Z one time.
Talk about scaring the LIVING SHIT out of you, it sounded like a gunshot went off in the car.
I needed a new windshield because the whole thing “spidered” in only a day.
