Passenger side window DESTROYED!!!

I woke this morning, mowed the lawn, and walked by my car (drive side). I looked into the driver side window and noticed that my passenger side window was totally SHATTERED!!!

Glass was everyehwere inside (little bits and pieces). I vacuumed everything up and pulled into the garage...right then, it started POURING rain. Talk about good timing.

I don't have full coverage, but have comprehensive, so insurance will pay to get it fixed.

Didn't find any rocks or BBs or anything around the area, and the car was parked in the driveway pretty far from the street, so I have no idea how it happened.

yeah, happened to my roommate a month ago on his VW GTI. Go try to find a junkyard one. Better than getting a brand new one. MY roommate got his replaced $80 or so.

oh but his was totally broken off... the whole sideview mmirror that is, not just the glass part.

Maybe when you mowed the lawn a little rock scooted out the mower... It has happened to a friend.. he hit his living room window...

Pay it out of your pocket at someplace that only does windows. Should be less than $100. involving the insurance co. will cost you later

Probably some punks looking for something to rip off. If you have space, you better put your car in the garage from now on.

Mr. Deeno I assume you didn't hear an alarm going off in the night ? I would ask some neighbors also, you never know if someone else heard or saw something but are not willing to bring the info forward unless you ask them.

But I thought there is no shock sensor to our cars....only if the door were opened.

right, the CL alarm DOES NOT go off if the window breaks... or the hood is popped. etc.

Are you kidding me, $100 ? Just a window itself costs $192.47 without considering labor. I would only go to the shop that uses OEM parts.... my guess that the whole thing will cost ~$500

That sucks, but why wasn't it in the garage in the first place?

I would give my left one for a garage here at my apartment.

Your homeowner policy should cover it since it happened in your driveway.

yeah, i'm back in pa, but going to dallas tomorrow for a week or so.

no alarm or anything went off, and i know it happened during the day.

i live in a rednecky neighborhood and people around here are constantly shooting pellet guns and stuff, so it may have been a stray. i'm too busy to really find a perp considering it'll only be a couple hundred to fix and my insurance is taking care of it.

I dunno man. I have already put out a car windor from a lawn tractor and the rock was mad small. It hit just right and that was all she wrote. I get pissed when I see some fool cutting his grass throwing the clippings on the the roadway. Lazy fools.

broken up pieces of ceramic from a spark plug will spider/shatter a car window if thrown at it (without much force)...and with very little noise. it's a commonly used vandal tool where I live.
