Pennzoil® Introduces the Outlaw® Maximum Performance Octane Booster

HOUSTON (August 28, 2001) – The Outlaw® Maximum Performance Octane Booster from Pennzoil® proves that sometimes you subtract by adding.

Add a canister of this exciting new product to each tank of gas, and you help subtract knocking and pinging from engine performance. Just in time for Labor Day road trips, this new member of The Outlaw® family of performance additives also helps reduce emissions while maintaining mileage.

This product contains agents so powerful that they're barely street-legal. The Outlaw® Maximum Performance Octane Booster composition includes a maximum concentration of MMT, one of the most effective octane boosters.

The product could not be easier to use. It comes in a lightweight four-pack. Each screw-top canister treats up to 20 gallons of gasoline. The octane booster works on gasoline in the tank and should be used before filling up.

Pennzoil designed the new product for the driver who insists on keeping an engine performing as it was designed and built to perform, regardless of the vehicle's age.

A driver who wants to ride on the edge will find The Outlaw® Maximum Performance Octane Booster keeps engines on that edge. It's a member of The Outlaw® family, which offers some of todays most highly concentrated, high-quality fuel additives. The family includes The Outlaw® Super Concentrated Gas Treatment, Fuel Injection Cleaner, Octane Booster, Fuel System Treatment (a powerful, multi-function maintenance product) and Racing Formula.

Pennzoil-Quaker State Company is a leading worldwide automotive consumer products company, marketing over 1,300 products with 20 leading brands in more than 90 countries. The company markets Pennzoil® and Quaker State® brand motor oils, the number one and number two selling motor oils in the United States. Jiffy Lube, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, is the world's largest fast lube operator and franchiser. I thought these octane boosters only worked if you were using a lower octane gas? So if you were already using the 93 octane gas, these things would do no good? I remember reading something about these on the boards a while back.

Just dug up an old thread, which just so happens to be yours.

MMT's (Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl) are suggested not to be used in our engines. Not saying I have never put NOS Octane Booster in my car but it says it in the owners manual not to use products with MMT's due to oxygen sensors or something. Just given the info.

I think using MMT in our car might clog up the cat converter or cause the oxygen sensor to malfunction leading to greater emissions.

I agree on the snakeoil comment.

Dig the propoganda:

"This product contains agents so powerful that they're barely street-legal."

Language like that screams like a late-night infomercial.

The first thing I would ask is why do you need an octane booster on a stock car?

I do not care about octane booster... i need to make sure that the fuel injectors are clean... I only use 93 Premium gas from day 1, I got the CLS.
