Man, i wonder wat acura is doing for the navigation. I had a 2003 CLS with navigation. That System had never been updated since 2001. New Roads are adding more n more, but the data base is still as old as 2001. Think about it, even the 2003 Accord got a Navigation system that had a batter graphic, more infomation then our 2003 CL???? Since acura is the lexury divison of honda, they should had something at least match the honda! RIght? Or give us some kind of software to update out navigation!!!!! :angry: :thumbsdn: :swear2:

You must remeber that the DVD NAV SYSTEM you have in your 2003 CLS is the same as the DVD NAV SYSTEM in my 2000 TL. OUR system is almost 4yrs old the ACCORDs system is all new.
ACURA would not design all new system for your car they did however upgrade the 2000TL to use single DVD from the 99 TL NAV system.
The only thing they can do is make us a new DVD version with the latest info on it. They have not yet come out with a new version but even with that it won't be like the ACCORDS system because of its new faster computer with & voice command controls. They are not building that many new roads every year. Our system is still much better than alot of other luxury cars like JAG,BMW,LEXUS,AUDI.BENZ The makers of the systems will have a new DVD out sometime because ACURA/HONDA have alot of vehicles now with NAV SYSTEMS like RL, TL, CL, MDX ,ODDSY,
When the new TL is out later this year it will have the new system in it like the new ACCORD.

 

Not taking into account the grammar and spelling.... what the heck are you talking about? The Acura Navigation system is one of the top Navi systems out there.

The Accord was just redesigned... the TL has not been redesigned since 1999 or 2000 (2002 was only refresh). When the new TL comes out this fall it will have all of the features, if not more, of the new Accord. You need to relax and think before blowing your first post on something like this.

 

I could give TWO SHITS about the voice recognition or other “features” in the new Accord NAVI.

All I want is new DVD map updates to make me happy again.

Okay I think we scared GunMetal away haha.... But I think the Nav I have in my CL is awesome. Yes it is outdated since its running a 2001 version but I had no problems yet and will probably update to the latest version around summer.

 

Didn't we gripe about this already? Navi is fine..jus needs new data.

FOR THOS WHO DON'T LIKE OUR NAVI: Please go outside to your car, remove the navi screen and dvd-unit from the trunk, place them in a box, and ship them to me. I love my Navi so much, I will install an extra one (LOL). I will be able to watch a dvd and get directions at the same time.

My buddy just bought a brand new "E-Class" mercedes......and I have to say, over $50K for the car and one of the nastiest Navi's I have ever seen!

 

For those of you who don't like our Navi...

Our Navi is much much better than Lexus's Navi.

I have a Lexus IS 300 and it complicated as hell to use. Also, you can't program your destination when the car is moving!

The Navi in my CL is so much nicer!

 

Alrite, alrite, but my question is that how come the navi system on the 2003 Honda is batter then the 2003 Acura, why don't thay add the new navi system on the 2003 acura too?

 

Because the 2003 accords were made after the 2003 CL's... If you noticed the 03 CL's dont have much of a change other then headlights, tailights, etc.... Why would acura Change there whole navi system when they are going to discontinue the CL after this year. It would be a waste of money and time for acura plus like someone metioned earlier the new TL's will most likely have the 03 accord navi and wouldnt be surprised if its better. Another thing is the accord is a whole new design this year and had to show watsup since all the new cars coming out are being so advance (its called Competition). With the new design they needed a new feature which is the Navi and voice activation to attract more customers. Think about it some kid sits in the accord and is WOWed by the voice activation navi and says MOMMIE i want this car look at the navi ... then for Honda it was worth going that extra mile. As for future Acura luxery cars Im sure they will step it up since its still Honda. Just be happy you can smoke a accord and still have a navi that beats out most car companies out there... CL = Most bang for the bucks

 

couldn't agree more... I love our navi. system. It does not have that much features like the new Accord, but hey it is still better than the navi. system on other cars.

 

I thought I had answered that question for you. The 2003 ACCORD is an all design with new dash, controls,Nav screen, computer & everything else. The 2003 CLS with NAV has the same dash & controls as the 99 TL NAVI HARD DISK REGION. The 2000TL just added the DVD using the single DVD to cover the U.S. but the controls, dash & everything else are the same. If you go look at pictures of the new 2004 ACURA TSX model you will see its NAV is like the 2003 ACCORD. ACURA could not just slap the same NAV system from the new ACCORD or 2004 TSX into the 2003 TL or CL models. Remember our Nav system unlike aftermarket systems also have controls for our Climate control systems (HEAT & AIR CONDITIONING) fan speeds+ vent air flow. Your car has the same thing as the 99 TL with NAV
