Scalbert,

Let me ask u this. When installing a SC is there any plumbing involved. Example would u need to plumb a oil line into the SC to keep it lubricated?

Also a water-to-air intercooler. Does that use the engines cooling system to conduct heat transfer or does the IC use it's own means of water (is it water or water/coolant)?

No, the Eaton SCs are self lubricating. They have their own small reservoir and special oil which need to be changed every 100k or so.

Most Water/Air intercoolers are on their own system separate from the engine cooling system. They are made up of the intercooler, plumbing, electric pump and a small radiator.

Wow I never knew.

Let me ask u ur opinon on this. Can u think of any benifits on plumbing a SC with the engines oil system, interms of longevity or most inportantly cooling?

The gears and coatings are designed for a special oil and it works well.

Now that u say gears. I would assume that there are gears in a SC to allow the SC to spin at 16Krpms. But what about an automatic gearbox that switched gears to allow more boost at low RPM?

Just a thought.

There are only three gears in it, two attached to the individual lobes and the one from the drive shaft which all are contained in the nosedrive of the blower assembly.

There is no need for more boost at lower revs. This is a positive displacement blower so you get basically the same boost at all engine speeds. The maximum amount is controlled by the drive ratio but from there the throttle controls the amount of positive pressure.
