Ordered Denso Iridiums
Ordered Denso Iridiums
I think I got a pretty good price. Ordered a set of IK16 for the TL-P and a set of IK22 for the CL-S for $8.50 each and shipping was only $10 for both sets. $112 for two sets delivered
Called Performance Parts Store (800) 246-4567 and spoke with a guy named Rick. He first started out at $9.00 but he said he could sell them to me for $8.50. Everything off of e-bay was more.

I paid $62.90, off ebay for the IK22's hopefully they come in soon, gas is getting killer around here, this past sunday I filled up and got 340 off a tank, about 25mpg, the best ive gotten in a long while.

According to Denso's site, IK22's come gapped at .8mm (.0315") and IK16 & IK20's come gapped at 1.1mm (.0433").

That's .3mm or .0118" which is very significant. I may just go with 1.0mm as a compromise to throw a little larger fire in the hole.

I know what you mean - I paid $2.749 a few days ago.

The regapping instructions on Denso's site don't even make sense. They describe how to regap the plugs but they say not to touch the electrode
Doesn't seem possible unless you have a device to measure the gap using light or laser? I'm just going to be very careful.

I'm not that anal to regap for .004. If I was, you better have me locked up

The electrode is way to delicate to gap them the old fashioned way. The iridium center electrode is very thin. Unlike a conventional plug, you cannot gap the plug by sandwiching a gap tool between the electrode and the ground strap, then pushing on the ground strap. The hard electrode will dig into the gap tool, and when you remove the gap tool, you'll break the electrode. Instead, adjust the ground strap by tapping it on a hard surface, or by pulling it gently with a tool; then measure the gap using your gap tool.
