Options for Shocks

It's time for me to purchase new shocks for my CLS, and I was wondering what the options are.

Anyone have thoughts on performance shocks?

KONI seems really expensive :'(, so I'm kinda wondering if there's an alternative to them that performs well.

Thanks,
Nutz

I have Tokico HP Blue shocks. These are replacement performance shocks for the CLS. Non adjustable. Got them from this guy on ebay

My '01 CLS has 76k miles on it, 26k after the Comptech springs were installed, so it's time to replace them.

I want to firm up the ride a bit, but mostly just wanna get the stock ones replaced as they're starting to feel slightly bouncy.

I'm gonna keep the car to 200k (tranny permitting), so I wanna get a good performance set. Maybe not for $800 + install with the KONI's.

I had Tokico blue's on my T-Bird and loved them. Probably best bang for the buck. Firmed up the floaty nose but didnt hurt the ride. I'll be going to these when my stocks go.

I saw that with KONI Yellows you can adjust ride height. Anyone have any info on this? Searched Car Talk and found very little about it.

So you can lock the shocks in at a lower point and effectively drop the car an additional 1/4" as an example?
