cold = more rattles
cold = more rattles
yep, got into 40s, and it makes a difference. the car rattles when I drive through bumps, I hear this creaking annoying noise from the rear top coner of my ceiling... in the area of plastic pillar next to a rear window. Ceiling in the rear (where it meets the window) looks shaky as well. POS interior....
PS. The problems could be in plastic pillar, it seems loose when I tap on it. And also the stupid ceiling makes a clicking noise when I push on it. Any ideas how to fix this?

ya
I've had mine less than 3 months and it's already a rattle trap. The weather has been 70+ here in MD too so it's definitely not cold related. Something rattling in both doors, seat squeaking when I go over bumps, and my sunroof rattles non stop when it's closed (open, no rattle).
Thinking about going to dealer and seeing if there's anyone who specializing in "tightening" things up a bit... because I am so anal about that. Ironically, no one else who rides in the car can hear it but me. Isn't that always the case though? For how new the car is, it's more principle than anything else at this point -- but the sounds drive me crazy while driving.
No, turning up the radio is not the correct fix :P

Rattle in driver console
I have recently noticed a clicking sound from my dashboard above the sterring wheel. Is there any common fix. Do you recommend removing my dash cover to locate the annoying "clicking sound" or would this likely may things worse.
Thanks

Unfortunately plastic expands and contracts. Trade in the CL for a Buick Rainier with:
Rainier's exclusive QuietTuning process uses acoustic materials, treatments and products specifically designed to achieve impressive levels of interior quietness. An acoustic laminate windshield, laminated front side-door glass and special quiet-tread tires work together with 26 strategically positioned acoustic absorbers and seals to help prevent exterior noise from reaching the cabin. Engineers also separated the specific vibration frequencies of the instrument panel, chassis and engine to prevent sympathetic vibration reactions. Noise is even further reduced by a modular cockpit design that virtually eliminates instrument panel squeaks and rattles. The result of it all is an uncommonly quiet vehicle.
I bet you'll be a LOT happier. :P

I heard lexus is more noise proof...
Have you guys tought about this? Go to a fabric store like Jo-Anns or Hancocks and buy a few yards of spongy foam and some glue. Pop off the trim pieces and use a X-Acto knife to cut the foam and put it in alll the little nooks and crannies. Plastic is cast with a lot of dead space. The foam will stick up above the plastic and when you put the trim piece back on the car it will push out and cause a nice tight fit. Worked like a charm on my daily driver. A 99 F-150. It will also help with wind noise. Audiophiles may notice improved sound.
