option racing pulley install

For those who have installed the option racing crank pulley, what is the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Torque Specification becos I was at the shop today and the tech was asking me for the recommended torque .
He said since the racing pulley is lighter that the torque specs should be diffrent frm OEM crank otherwise it could crack if too tight or come off if NOT tight enuff

Pls someone who has installed this racing crank pulley , tell me what the recommended specs is ??

Not trying to hijack your thread, but I too am installing this same pulley over the weekend and also need the torque specs. Did you get a new crank bolt? I replaced the hamonic balancer and crank pulley on a Supercharger XR7 I owned (replacement factory) and didn't replace the crank bolt. Two weeks later the crank bolt snapped and I damaged the new pulley and balancer. The forum I belonged to (SCCOA.COM) had this happen to others that didn't replace to bolt. Needless to say I replaced to bolt the second time. Is this nessacary for the CL?

Alternator & A/C Belt: Accord, CL & TL: Use Gates K060441 (44 5/8” or 1135MM)

Power Steering Belt: Use Gates K040425 (43 1/8” or 1095MM)

Thanks Man for the help, I will try that.
S0 go with 150 vs 180 .

I wonder if one could really crack the pulley if it is torqued to close to 180lb.

if you go with the under driven pulley, smaller diameter means you need smaller belts.

The power steering belt is powered by the crank pulley. So yes you need both belts.

Once it's tight it's tight. I didn't install it so I have no idea what was used. 180 will be fine. Your not going to break anything.
Just do it & stop stressing about it.

Agreed, just make it tight. 120 Ft lbs to 180 Ft Lbs is fine. You might be able to do it just fine around a hundred. It's not going to come off at thoes specs.

I would'nt worry about it too much.

I only said 150 cause I used an impact. Once it was tight I just hit it a bit more. Good enough!

If your not used to using a impact gun, I'd be carefull as to not over TQ it. It can be easy to do with a good Impact Gun.

Any of them can translate the belt numbers for you. ( well they should, but you might get someone whos knows nothing about belt numbers).

I went to Checkers and got the Goodyear Gatorback belts. Seem to be just fine! I'd go pull the numbers for ya, but my CL is getting a new tranny. Won't have it back for another week or so!

im taking it to a shop. i got a pulley and throttle body spacer on there as we speak. you should either start with the pulley or headers. there the best bang for your buck. i plan on taking off my fog lamps and putting '03 inserts and im going to cut off the backs for more air flow.

For other CL/TL drivers near by, the Consumer Auto on Weston Road and State Road 84 has them. That is where I got mine for the CL and for the brother's 3G TL. It is a smaller store, pretty easy to miss, but they have a ton of Gates belts in stock.

Anyone know about this issue? I probably have the crank bolt at 120ftlb. I have had squeel at idle on both my OE size UR crank pulley and my smaller UR pulley. It is so annoying. It started on both pulleys after about 1000 miles. Tension on PS belt is good and new tensioner on accessory belts at this time and still I have a squeel at idle that gets worse with the ac on. I tried belt dressing on the old small UR pulley and that would make it stop for a few days. Jim

Mine has never made any noise. Of course I only have about 500 miles on it. I wonder if that Supercharger might have something to do with the belts sqeeling. Maybe more drag on teh system. I'm sure you've tried but maybe try tightning them up a bit? Or maybe they are to tight?

If all eles fails try the Goodyear Gator back belts. They have a soft compound, and slits in the ribs for flexing.

i just did mine at 165 lb, so I dont think so.
I will wait for a while though. I got maybe 5 miles on them but we will see.

yet to notice the HP jump frm the crank pulley though unlike the cai or seafoam or the headers or enlarged Tb those were all noticable almost instantly.

time will tell.

Thats cool, glad you feel a diff. I don't feel a lot from mine, I think because I have the IRMC tied in the open position cause it quit working. So I think I'm loosing low end TQ. We'll have to see when I replace the actuator. Hoping to see a bit more power.
