I am currently leasing my 2001 CLS. I have about 1 1/2 years left on my lease. I had no intentions of modding this car but im really getting into it. I know im ahead of myself but I don't know if i should buyout my CLS and continue modding it or if i should hold off and wait till my lease it up. Keep in mind i have 15k miles a year and i already have 26.5k miles on my car. So i am way over miles. I just ordered an aluminum dash kit for my car along with the other mods in my sig. I haven't done to much at the moment but if i keep it i want to do the whole interior (tv's, 2 tone leather)and start modding the engine. What do you guys think? If i get a new car in a year and a half it would either be a truck (expedition, navigator, escalade) or a nice sedan (lexus, BMW, Benz) I need to know now before i do anything serious. I am really stuck on this. Thanks in advance.

Are you really happy with your car? Do you think you will want it after the lease is over?
Me, I hate keeping cars past 3 years....I'm also careful in how much aftermarket stuff I put in my cars, the more you add...the more you lose in the end- whether the car is bought or leased.

You can sell your rims, exhaust, intake...any bolt on stuff- but you still have to find buyers and the amount you will get back out after spending thousands of dollars should be a concern- shit like 2 tone seats, TV's in your headrests are really cool. But by the time your done, look at what you will spend...add it up, then just think of the cars you could have with saving that cash.
After adding $8-$10k worth of goodies, its still a very nice $30k Acura. In the end, its your call.

Hey, does your car look like a big wedge with only front springs?

If your talking about me, I have Comptech front springs and H&R rear springs. I don't just have front springs.marc

Oops. It was late last night and I didn't notice the different rear springs.
In that case, do the H&R's level the car better than the Comptech rears?
Re your situation: Stick to the bolt-on mods, and save the money you are planning to spend on TVs and two-tone seats for the mileage buyout you are going to have to pay at the end of your lease.

i say just keep modding if you have the money. You never know what would happen, you might not even be here in a year. THats what i think. Do what you want now, have fun, enjoy your life. Just dont spend all ur money, if u have extras, then go ahead get mods. You can only do mods that would fit in ur new car also if u decide to change. Like get a flip up monitor in dash so u can take it out and put in new car. Sound system, etc.
