Online ordering K&N
Ok, need some help. Where can I order online, the K&N air filter for the S. Local shops don't stock it, they'd order it but I'd like to get it sooner. So if anybody would be so kind as to post any links where I can order the K&N for the S (except for ahmotors) then I'd be sacraficing two goats to you. Oh, one more thing. Is the K&N dropin part number for the S the following 33-2178?
Thanks

Coming to a city near you
well you can go to the k&n homepage to find online shops that carry it at www.knfilter.com or i think www.performanceproducts.com sells them as well.
just checked they are $43 for the drop in filter, and you can find the re oil kit at a local store so you dont' need to order from them.

The Type S takes the 33-2178. I just put mine in a couple days ago. It's a quick drop in...maybe 5-10 minutes. I got mine from Macneil Auto http://www.macneilauto.com/store/

I just got mine from a local shop in NJ, Car Parts. #33-2178 for the CL-S for $48.67. I ordered it Wednesday, it was in the next day.
Dropped right in. You won't need a re-oil kit for another 50,000 miles.

Thank you people.

Where you got yours, was it a particular auto chain? I'm also in Jersey and was figuring I could find it like you if its a store with other branches. Thanks.
Achance
Just checked out www.performanceproducts.com and while they list the filter, unless I missed it, they do not indicate a part number. I'd prefer not doing any snipping to fit it. Thanks
ord cl-s
I never thought of checking into Macneil Auto. (Got my winter mats there. I know those mats hold more water than anything Acura sells). I'll have to give them a call. Thanks

It was CarParts Auto Stores. (www.carpartsinc.com).
The stores listed on my receipt are Raritan, Hillsboro, Flemington, Kendal Park, Neptune, Whitehouse.
Apparently they are supplied by a warehouse, so if its in the warehouse you can have it in a day. For the cl-s, you have to give them the part number, its not in their look-up computer but its in their inventory. (k&n*332178 air filter)

I'm out of HELL!!!!
About the K&N filter...just FYI.
1. I had the K&N filter in my Ford Probe and thought that it wouldn't need cleaning for 50K miles. It needed cleaning after about 15k. I do mostly highway driving - but even their instructions tell you that the dirtier the environment you drive in, the more often you need to clean it. Now I did a lot of driving to New Jersey - so those who live there shouldn't think they can last 50K miles. I suggest you check it every 10K or so.
2. K&N listed four sites that sell their products. Two were $43 each, one didn't have ours listed and the last is $38 (www.4wheelparts.com).

Why not just get an intake?
</font>
The intake makes the car louder.
Louder draws attention.
People who draw attention see red and blue in their mirrors.
The intake may or may not have water trouble.
People reported about 4mpg increase with the k&n filter. So even if I get 3mpg, at $2 per gallon now for gas, the filter would break even in 15 weeks. I usually replace my filters at 10,000 miles, so I bought a k&n instead of a stock paper (stock costs about $20). I will be cleaning it most likely every 10-15k miles anyway.
