Good symptom for a new tranny. Have the dealer check it out. Where did you buy it?

first off pull the codes and see what they mean.......then go from there. Dealer should be more than willing to help you on that one.... unless the car is over 4 years on in serice date or 50K miles (may be 52500 miles shortly) if it turns out to be the trans, make SURE that the car is not salvage titled....

Trans is under 7 year 9 month 109K warranty so if it is the trans you should be OK as long as not salvage titled

I've seen more CL-S 5ATs do this to their owner.

I wonder why this is?

This statement is wrong on a couple levels...

1) Not all 03 CL automatics are covered under the extended warranty. It all depends on the VIN. Acura thinks they might have fixed the issue part way thru the 03 Model Year... So the auto tranny on some late MY03's are only covered for 4 yrs/50K miles (but I'm sure dealer will replace a failed auto tranny under goodwill if you bitch enough).

from:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=%2A3A005203

2003 3.2 CLs up to VIN 19UYA42..3A005203
2) You'll only get the extra 9 months and 9K miles if you "opt-in" to the class action lawsuit... otherwise you get the 7k/100k from the in service date.

At least that's my story Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

go to acura. you should get a new tranny. you have three days from date of purchase to return the car. honda dealer should take care of you if it is not covered by acura.
