OMG remove your roadlamps!

i have had my aem cai for about a year now and today i decided to drive without my roadlamps to see if i get any gains

well i have never been able to chirp 2nd gear but today i was able to do it everytime. it is amazing how much of a performance advantage it is just with the roadlamps removed

im in the process of getting a new bumper does it matter if its an 02 or an 03? if i get an 03 bumper can i still put in the roadlamps just in case i decide to drive with four lights?

hey, can you take a pic of what the roadlamp casing looks like?
i've been thinking about stringing some white LED's along the top of the casing.

I think there is a difference in the bumpers. If I am correct, the '03 has a type of grill where the roadlamps go so you cannot put the old ones in. I think this what happens.

you gotta watch out because more water gets in there now...

I did this a month after I got my car...scares me when it rains because I have no bypass valve and the filter just sits right there...if a puddle of water splashes right into there...well you know what will happen

I agree. I was going to pull the lamps on my '03, but when you look down there, the front bumper opening fills that whole cavity of the bumper with air. When you're driving, it'll be slightly presurized, so you won't get any air restrictions. The little bit of extra gained from the lamps (considering you already have the whole front end open) shouldn't do much at all.

Maybe it was cooler, or maybe it's the classic fault of trying something, and then bagging the car extra hard that day.... :P

Water will hit the filter trust me that is why I am waiting for the Ice-Box where I can have the foglight removed without worrying about the filter.

A guy here in the DFW area with an 01, or 02 CL bought the inserts for about $16 each at the dealer, and they fit in his bumber just fine.

It's actually not too bad. My dealer charges like $20 for it.
