Ok so it's time for turbo

Ok so recently bought a turbo kit for my 03 CLS with an auto, kit was custom done for this dude's car which is the same as mine,so fitment shouldn't be a problem hopefully. Anyways just looking for more general knowledge from anyone boosted on here.

This is whats going in the setup:

-Turbonetics T3/T4
-TIAL BOV and Wastgate
-Walbro 255
-EManage Blue w/ fuel and ignition harness
-NO2 intercooler sprayer
-IK22 spark plugs
-transmission cooler

Basically I'm looking for any thing to add, safety concerns, or suggestions, thanks alot

invest in a nice camera mounted in the car...you better have videos...turbo CL's [the few out there] sound better than almost any car minus ferrari/porsche, imo.

if this setup was already installed previously on a similiar setup as you say, nothing to worry about man, except good luck with the tranny, seriously! it should be fine. just make sure you tune and then you'll be the next successful member to the Turbo CL Club...what member #5?

congrats!

i think the trannies are exagerated...yeah itll go out but it wont be cuz the turbo...youll be enjoying that turbo soooooooo much before it goes out, so youll replace it b/c its worth it then...if your replacing a tranny on a stock car, then it becomes worthless and you feel like shit...

Holy crap that's terrible reasoning.

The turbo absolutely will eat up your transmission faster. Acura would have a strong argument for not replacing it under warranty since it's quite easy to argue that the added stress of the engines increased power output caused the failure.

It doesn't sound like it's much of a factor in your decision but I wanted to make sure the uninformed drivel is being offset by sound advice just in case.

I really hate sounding like an jerk, but i can't stop laughing...

DFoster0, aren't you the guy thats been bringing up a bunch of 5-year old dead threads for the past couple weeks?

You really want a 6-speed but its out of budget.... cuz a turbo setup is cheap right?

Auto transmission won't have any issues with a turbo? I'm pretty sure most people will agree that the already weak transmission (Can't even handle the type-S 260 HP) will buckle quicker if you add more power and hit that pedal harder.

Just my

Try NOPIGUY (I believe that is his screen name and if I'm correct his actual name is Glen). I think there is a few pic of it on RonJon's page. To the best of my knowledge he is the only one on here that had an auto / turbo. As for advice I really don't have any think for you but would wish you good luck with your new project. On a side note, how many pounds are you planning to push and what hp/whp are you hopping to make?

It just sounds to me that you're on transmission #1. Wait til the bitch downshifts to 2nd while you're doing 70 on the freeway. (Keep in mind, with little to no warning whatsoever beforehand) You can tell us how wrong we were then.

i was trying to encourage this guy more than have sound reasoning because the man promulgated his situation, not merely to get ripped on b/c of his car's auto, but to make sure he is doing everything correctly. you know, i wish i had a cl-s, but it just wasnt in my budget 2 years ago, and also a priori [azine], i didnt know it existed...anyway, the man is happy with his car in his own budget which cannot support a 6sp, and i wanna see it turboed asap! so stop discouraging him...my main point was he'll be seeing more action than problems, and yeah, the tranny just may go out. lol...

no one said you were a dumbass 18 year old. i dont care how old you are, but you cant give someone false hope that a tranny is going to last just as well if it is mated to a turbo j32. it is just wrong...period.

like i said, if my CL wasnt a daily driver that sees 400+ miles/week then i would be all about some boost.

I'm on my 2nd one by the way, and the perspective that something might happen when I turbo isn't gonna really discourage me. I've yet to hear from anyone on here with a turbo automatic(If I'm wrong please correct me). I appreciate both positive and negative comments but can we get past the point of the transmission argument cause it's going no where.
