Open up Racing stories again, where am I going to posts all the fun I have in my car.
On Scottsdale Road Heading North. Racing around with a Mustang 2001 which does like 7 flat to 60 I think. He had an exhaust too as for what I could see. So we get to a red light and it is on. I close the sunroof, shut off the AC, switch to SS and wait for green. Green comes and we both get a pretty even start. At 40mph he is right there alongside me then I get up to 60 and i'm half a car ahead and I hit 2nd to 3rd really hard it boucnes onces and just kicks in and it was the best accleration I felt (probably really bad for tranny.) But just take off from 65-90 and I hhave him by 1.5-2 cars. Then we both notice a cop about 3/8 mile ahead and jam on the brakes and he turns off right I turn off left. Ok yeah I know I have to be safer but I still like to have fun. Anthony

Was it a 5spd or auto?
Best number I've seen for the 'Stang is 7.2 which I believe was the 5spd. I don't think I've ever come across a 5spd. I swear they don't sell hardly any manual tranny 'Stangs even in GT form.
anyways... nice kill.

Yeah, it must have been a V6, because the Gt's would beat us pretty good. 14.0 quarter mile. I wonder why people buy auto's? I think it's because either they don't want fun and better performance, or they don't know how to drive a stick.

See hears the thing. I thought I saw it say Mustang GT like engraved on the back bumper, but I know we can only take the 97 model of the GT if it is auto (which this was.) But this looked new so I figured maybe I just saw it wrong and it was just a new Mustang V6 auto which is like 7.0 to 60 and 15.1 in the quarter. It could have been a 97 Mustang GT in Auto just really in perfect condition but I doubt I would have pulled on him like that, hey maybe he had a full tank and he did have a passenger, so i'm not sure. Anthony.
