I dunno, maybe I'm just paranoid, but I would still change it every 3 months. If you ever had any engine trouble the dealership could say you neglected it because you didnt change it according to how the maintenance book says. I know in my climate there are lots of days where the temp can go from 40* at night to 75* during the day, which means there will be condensation forming inside the engine. After 6 months I'd say thats not healthy, but again wtf do I know.

I feel that its worth the extra couple bucks a year to always have oil that is less than 3,500 miles old in the crank. I diod an oil analysis of Mobil Drive Clean 5W-30 after 5k miles in my Taurus, with a M1 filter. The report said the oil was still in very good condition, but I dont remember any real specifics (this was ~3 years ago). So, I think you guys dont give the new dino oils enough credit. Sure they cant go 10k without changing, but if you;re someone like me who drives 1,500 miles a month, you're used to changing the oil every couple months anyways.
